Not necessarily shit, but it's taking design cues from a terrible generation of shooters.

It's also slower, because couch fatsos need to spin around and move their bellies, so can't have them die or anything. Remember we used to lol at console faggas playing with derptroller? Wait until you meet the VR tardos having to aim with their dwindling arms. Laughing

I'm far from fat, but constantly holding the controllers up is pretty tiring. If you ever played In Death you know what I mean. With the teleport options you can even play seated, depending on how good the game is supporting it.

Thanks to the virus, I’ll be able to replay episode 1 & 2 before then! But wait! There is also Doom Eternal?! These are trying times!

Haven’t really seen any VR games ‘scene’ releases.

I'll wait for a 60fps walkthrough on YT just to see if they take the story anywhere. After playing HL2, I've had enough of gravity gun-like shenanigans. Laughing

What hype are you speaking of? I mostly see people ranting they can't play it, because it's VR only Very Happy
I don't know if it's worth to buy VR just for this game though. I'm also interested how the workshop integration turns out. How much will be modable etc.

First review out by Edge magazine. 9/10.

Quote:
A little summary in lieu of transcribing:

They're fans of the gloves and the small things they let you do. Not revolutionary, but still very, very useful and intuitive
Feels very much like a Half-Life game still and they were impressed how that gameplay translated well to VR
They thought the story was serviceable but really liked the writing.
Beautiful world that gives you a chance to explore - slower pace than traditional FPS games, but very thrilling when the battles do arrive

I hope its not too bad with the WMR controllers. The Samsung O+ has a really nice screen for the price (imo) but I’m not sure the controllers will hold up for this game.

i'd say it's definitely not worth it just for Alyx simply because it doesn't feature multiplayer or any replayability.. but i have ~200 hours in VR now and i have plenty more stuff to play Very Happy

I fear some people are expecting too much from this game... They literally want HL3 in VR, and if it falls anywhere close to short of their expectations, they will, once again, declare VR a dead gimmick.

Which it isn't of course. It just needs care and attention from developers in order to bring the best out of it.

Does anyone think that someone will be able to MOD the game so it plays in first person mode so you can play without a VR setup?
