It's not.

How many episodes did u watch?

I was gonna say 2-3, then i checked Netflix, i've seen ~7 episodes. I guess it wasn't for me. In those 6.5 episodes i think it basically stood still and it was just bleak and boring.

Finished S02 and love the fact that it's on par with first one. Usually the quality drops with 2nd season but not the case here.

Questions answered but so many others raised.

Now the waiting game till S03.

Maybe change title to something else than "german stranger things" since it has nothing in common with that show Laughing

Agree!

Don't understand why people consider this being overhyped. I think the language here is the culprit for not being overhyped, although, the language adds up to overall vibe the movie is giving us.

Im enjoying season 1 again (as I figured I didn't understood shit after the ep1 of season 2 Laughing )
And I'm really enjoying it. One of those rare cases that you can easily repeat a whole season.

Just finished season 2.

Such threads, many plot!

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It's the old family tree. S02 family tree is different.

Season 2 was amazing, had me glued to the screen, can't wait for Season 3. Dark and Chernobyl made me completely forget how awful GoT's final season was ! That's quite something Very Happy
I don't really care if everything doesn't make completely perfect sense as long as the story is told in a powerful way, as has been the case so far - but I suspect the authors will make sure everything does make sense by the time we reach the ending, and I didn't catch anything that seemed illogical/incoherent so far.
It's a little marvel to see all the story threads coming together, and I really like how this deal with time travelling - I'm completely clueless when it comes to quantum physics, but this is the way I'd expect it to work, somewhat !

And it's always nice to hear a little German, something other than English, brings me back to my German-learning years - not much of is left though, I fear Very Happy but I figure it'd be better if I watched more German-dubbed things.. Razz

using German language is a strong point of this series, it adds up to all the serious vibe the movie is expressing.

have you guys noticed that even if the movie has a majority of teenagers, it's actually very serious.

Finally activated the Higgs field deutschapparatus after reading the positive comments, it definitely delivered a pleasant buzz of mystery that my 3.6 R/h mancave was looking for. Before watching this one, the only German TV series that I was familiar with was Cobra 11 (classic pastime as a teen, the dubbed version on top of that), so it was quite the jump in terms of quality Very Happy Laughing

The show has the ability to stay true to its bleak nature without feeling like a cheesycircus, always a threat when heavy doses of time travel are involved. With so many intertwined plots, things could have gone terribly schweiny, but thankfully everything is successfully kept afloat by the competent writing along with the solid acting and distinct gloomy style.
There are moments in S02 where the atmosphere inevitably loses the element of subtlety and gets swallowed by some corniness due to the storyline's logics being as plausible as taking the dinglebop and smoothing it out with a bunch of schleem, but it's essentially just a glitch in the matrix. From the looks of it the next season will bring it to the next level (literally!), here's hoping it won't turn into some sort of Darkvengers.

The only downside is that I can't seem to get this damn song out of my head, Noah help

Great show. Finished season 1 and it was dark, bleak and reminded me slightly of the french series The Returned (2012, two seasons) that, while not having anything to do with time travel (well, in some ways it does but not in a sci fi way), shared the darkness and bleakness combined with the mystery of what's happening that is slowly unfolding. Do NOT mistake it with the shitty US remake from 2015.

Going for season 2 of this show next.
