Shopping Cart joke is all haha, but I never really needed a shopping cart, tbh. I wouldn't know what for (on EGS).
Neither did I, but it's just hilarious that such a bare-bones basic-ass feature is still nowhere to be seen. Tim acting like it's a joke instead of an embarrassment is funny in itself too.
I play Anno 1800 on my UBI account, and saw the great 2205 version (the one that has been never cracked at later stages) on sale for £10 all in, the 'Ultimate Edition' on Epic. Great!, I'll buy that, what's £10?
Installs no problem on Epic, but have to link my UBI account to play, great also.
Run game from Epic Launcher, it loads UPlay Launcher (which I play 1800 on), reminds me that it needs updating, fine, after which, it now sets itself into UPlay Launcher and tells me to exit Epic Launcher.
I now have game running from Epic install directory, but through Uplay setup directory, and it works, and I don't give a shit, but, surely, it would have just been easier to give me the God damn fuckin key?!
60 euro retail value, trololol 300 eur dlc man, the hours i spent on civ2 , all the other civs felt so bland , alltough neemoy his narrating in civ4 ?, was awesome
but awesome, another game i never bothered buying for free, thanks fortnite players, keep it up!

I admit few days ago I made 4 new accounts, based them in RUssia and I will try to sell them someday.
It took like 10 mins total and I kinda regret not making more.
A leak on Reddit correctly predicted that GTA 5 would be followed up by Civilization VI, and if the prediction remains correct, we’re getting another 2K-published favourite on May 28 with Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Then, on June 4, we’ll see the free release of Ark: Survival Evolved
thats kinda nutty, why would they give away all borderlands inlcluding the dlc, when the dlc is where they make their monies

The Handsome collection has been on sale on steam over and over for as little as 1-5$, depending on what store.
Also 90% of DLC's are for BL2, a what, 10-year-old game which had already 2 successors. Notably, BL3, which is a much better "Borderlands" Game.
However people who for some reason haven't played any of the BL games yet might want to try out BL3, after having played a bit of the earlier BL's.
wasnt the same Blands collection for like few bucks in last few steam sales???
Yes. It was like $8 or something. Dirty cheap anyway.

Quite aa few people on Steam are posting boycott Epic posts I've noticed. Whilst I can understand their sentiments for doing so, for me free games are still free games. Which is enough incentive for me to use Epics thingy despite all it's current flaws.
Besides, it wasn't as if I ever had a real choice in the matter anyway when 2 games I had previously pre-ordered or backed on via kickstarter required me to use Epic, being the platform they were eventually being distributed from (Mechwarrior 5, Phoenix Point).
Regardless whether I would eventually be bound to use the Epic store, I doubt giveaways such as gtav and World War Z, Civ 6 etc etc.. would have prevented me from signing up with them anyway. I've been wanting WWZ ever since it came out tbh.
I don't think the Epic store is likely to close down either like what happened to the short lived Desura distribution platform. So i'm wondering... aren't those who are boycotting the store shooting themselves in the foot?. Can they be sure that any future titles they may wish to buy won't also be Epic distribution exclusives too?. Isn't anyone feeling even slightly miffed that their ethics are preventing them from picking up all those games given away so far?. Isn't there a chance you're going to be using that platform for something or other eventually in the future anyway?..
For those that really do feel that strongly against using the store, well, good for them.
I can understand and respect someone taking a stance, although I do suspect theres also a bunch of kids out there who are just taking the boycott stance because other people are doing so, and it's cool to bitch about something lol.. I wonder how strong their resolve is passing up game after game given out for free right now..
I'm only bringing this up btw, because I mentioned to someone on my steam buddy list about some games Epic were giving away at the time, and their response was rather hostile, stating "I would never ever use that shit! blah blah...". I thought. Oh....kay, I was only letting you know dude, a thanks would have sufficed probably or nothing at all is cool too. Not that I even give a shit about your politics lol.
I suppose one positive about the Epic store, is that chances are the service is only likely to get better. (hopefully!)

nice one, where are they getting their source from though I wonder?. Some Epic staff insider?.

All the games you mentioned related to EGS (PP, Mechwarrior 5, WWZ) are bordering mediocrity.
How are people shooting themselves in the foot if they decide not to use this anit-consumer platform? There's enough fish in the sea, the market is not running out of games.
..because, whats the harm of just making some fake ass account and grabbing a load of free games instead..?!?. Still, people do what they do.. i'm guessing you're one of the boycotters too Nodrim?. I understand the market is never going to run dry of games, but i'm not supporting the future of PC gaming tbh, i'm only interested in getting free sheeet

I think their motivation is just to gain as many users as possible right now, so profits are secondary to their aim. All these giveaways aren't going to last forever. They'll all suddenly cease, just like what happened with uplay and origin. They're just trying to make it as tempting as they can so people will sign up with them. Think that's about the gist of it really ...
