Speaking of which, after having been trolled by Fahrenheit many years ago I decided to give Cage the benefit of the doubt and some weeks back I grabbed Heavy Rain's isodemo out of pure curiosity. Since nothing in it qualifies as gameplay and the QTE-based progression is simply insulting, the only thing left to judge is the writing...and oh boy.
The whole narrative structure is completely unaware of the concept of subtlety and never (ever ) thinks about presenting a coherent flow, leading to the tone constantly hopping from mystery to cheddar cheese with no regard for believability. The quality of the dialogues and amount of goofy neverending brawls and escape sequences would have been perfect for a comedic work à la Benny Hill-meets-Bud Spencer, but unfortunately the story is supposed to be taken seriously.
Scenes essentially use three patterns: the extra sappy one for borderline cringeworthy emotional moments, the gimmicky one where you're put in front of a mundane task picked from a list of the most pointless chores available, and the action-y orchestral beats when logic gets thrown out of the window while chasing its balloon through a cloud of chickens. I had to give up after ~3-4 hours and skimmed through the rest on the Tube, and as expected, the plot ended on a note that was in line with what was offered beforehand.
Will give Cage one last chance with Detroit's yarr in the future, although I suspect things will get schwifty again.

I remember really enjoying Fahrenheit despite some irritating QTE deaths.
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Yes Detroid is by far Cage's best game.

Detroit feels like an authentic peaceful protesting simulator right now.

Gameplay is prolly shittier on PC without gyroscope/sixaxis.. Most of the QTE use motion control.
Playing this with a mouse....

Not saying it might make the games amazing if you don't like them to begin with but without motion control the games are less immersive (at least they were to me).

Immersive
They added that shitty smoke and mirrors mechanic so people 'feel' engaged. Please don't tell my you swallowed that crap.
They do add a humour to his games for me though. Plenty of awkward things that get the QTE treatment.
Think he'd be better off to just embrace walking simulators or visual novel approach if he's allergic to actual gameplay.

Kinda tanks if you unlock FPS and try to go well above 80fps, while GPU usage stays low

What do you think most games do when you see the loading screen
Shaders gotta be compiled for specific GPUs
Not a problem on consoles though ofc. Compile em once and ship em with the game.
