Frozen (2010) - 7/10

Good stuff on a low budget, gripping, and thoroughly entertaining.

The Life of David Gale - 7/10

Enjoyed this, although it wasn't my choice. (the wife's) Nice twist indeed, and it had Kate in it, so that bumps the score up a little Smile

Sphere - 3.9/10

Another poor movie with Mr S L Jackson, that is just all over the place, and neither Mr Hoffman, nor Ms Stone, can save it.

The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008) - 5.5/10

Weak remake of original, but has its moments.

Hearts in Atlantis - 7.4/10

So good. ATH Wink

Moon (2009) - 7/10

Sam Rockwell, and many of them, in this story of what will happen, eventually, due to human greed.

Enemy (2015) - 6.8/10

Interesting suspense flick, that has one of the most weird endings ever.

Watch Mute (2018) as it's set in the same universe as Moon. Not as good but you get a small nod to it.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

The Legend of Barney Thomson - 8.5/10

Hilarious Scottish flick starring the great Robert Carlyle, Ray Winstone, and Emma Thompson. Emma deserves an Oscar for this performance as the Scottish mother of Carlyle. A rare treat of a movie, that had me in stitches from start to finish Smile Then again, I can relate to all of the stuff in this hour and a half of madness Wink

Zodiac (2007) - 6.8/10

I recall when all these murders happened, and its a good film, based on that very true story.

Strange days (1995) 8/10

This was recommended to me and boy was it good. Oddly topical too for 1995 movie, but then again I guess some things never go "out of fashion". Thought it was very intruiging and well acted with an interesting plot.

Oh yeah, it's a true gem of a movie and quite underrated (or rather it went under the radar at the time and was "lost" to public knowledge). It's for me a must-see. I re-watched it quite recently which probably makes it the 6th/7th time I've watched it.

Ad Astra

If you're looking for something that can quench your sci-fi needs, then look elsewhere. If you're looking for competent and believable writing, then look elsewhere. If you're looking for a journey into Planet Nonsense surrounded by artificial and laughable electromelodramatic fields, then look no further. This is the one.

First Man - 7/10

That was definitely better, not as good or thorough as it could (and should) have been, but reasonably well-made overall. The metal creaking and rattling sounds, analog panels, and the cranky equipment were perhaps the highlights of the movie, displaying the incredible risks that the fairly rudimentary technology could constantly pose to the mission. Ryan Gosling was...classic Ryan Gosling, the rest of the cast did their serviceable job as well.

The only enjoyable part of this movie was the moon chase. Top notch. The rest just meh.

The space elevator scene in the intro was really nicely done. Visual effects are all this movie is about. And space monkeys.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

Did you give it a 5 out of 10 for 30 minutes?

Be brave, give it the 1/10 it obviously deserves Smile

5/10 for Colin Farrell’s café scene.

Eurovision The Story of Fira Saga - 5/10
...Actually enjoyed it. A feel good movie, fortunately Will Ferrel doesn't have that much time on screen. There are some feels and the humor never goes to low crotch/fart levels.
