Once you get an upgraded bike, the game becomes much easier, faster and just simply better. The whole snowy area can be traversed with a bike.
But yeah, I agree, the game is overhyped.
I didn't expect a lot from the gameplay, but I expected a lot from the story. And even that is a weak part of the game for me. The whole game is a big fail in my eyes, except for the graphics and soundtrack.

I can’t play for more than 1-2h per day so I‘m still at chapter 3. Getting all the stars and equipment takes time but its relaxing.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) Decided to buy it from a gray market site. So far, it's...hm...I mean it's pretty...umm...you know, it's...Kojima.
Throwing exposition and obtuse jargon at you at a million miles per second, but damn it's so damned beautiful I can't look away. As usual the cutscene-to-gameplay ratio is heavily skewed towards cutscenes early on (gotta cram those "by Hideo Kojima" credits on the screen somehow). All these guest stars are pretty neat, but yeah, del Toro is an amazing director, but not really cut out to be a voice actor.
Currently working towards that fabled 3rd act everyone keeps talking about.
Finished. Loved it. 70 hours was my final playtime.
As a sidenote, i barely finish 2 games a year... nothing manages to hold my interest that much. This did, surprisingly.
What's good about it? I'm trying to like it but it just seems soooooooo boring
It’s not for everyone. I’m not gonna go into detail since i don’t want to post spoilers , but yeah i guess if you finished chapter 3 and still not like it it’s probably not for you. Nothing wrong with that really, people like different things and all.

finished it too at around 47h, it was fairly long.
i really liked it in the end, has its ups and downs but as a whole package, as a new ip it was very interesting, yes gameplay is simple but still it kept me going figuring out the story etc, giving out new tools to travel and terrain was well done.
what i didnt liked was that there is so much useless info shown in the menu and unnecessary clicks, and that some characters would repeat themselves on what should the player do, even long into the game some would say something like it wasnt very obvious what to do. a streamline in this would have been an easy fix.
im a bit dissapointed at how the story unfolded towards the end, the game was more interesting in the first part with its mistery, last part is mostly exposition and the last chapters is mostly a long 3h movie. still it was a great game/experience.
crazy how many big names this game has
also the music choices were excelent, there is a moment in the early chapters when a certain song stars playing given what youve been through probably one of the most memorable moments in videogames, you will know when you get there, song is not the one bellow which i wont spoil but still an excelent theme. i was already liking the game at this point but after this i was loving it.
sorry for hijacking this thread. I wanted to buy this but I am having trouble moving steam store from RU to ARG.
so i logged in with VPN on an incognito browser tab. Steam store lets me change country to ARG so i enter a random valid Buenos Aires street adress.
However when i click confirm it always returns sth like: "there has been an error updating your store location. Please try again later. Or contact steam support if the problem persists"

anybody got an idea what i am doing wrong?
Valve uses pretty advanced vpn detection shit now since ppl made such a riot out of the Horizon Zero Dawn price mistake.
No one i know managed to switch using a vpn lately there might be something still working but there is a good chance you get banned later on.
New accounts should still work from what i read so maybe try that and make a new Argentinian acc, it's safer anyway if you don't want to risk your main acc.
I can't change country in browser, it needed to be confirmed from Steam client, so for that I need VPN client software that works outside browser.
But last week I tried to change my UK account country to my original place (Czechia) and that didn't worked also, even with VPN software
So it's a mess now.
yea wanted me to log in via steam client w ARG vpn too. Did that, but it didn't help
anyway thanks for the heads up! i will steer clear of this then for the time being
if i was to create a new ARG account. is family sharing possible with my original account? Cannot be arsed to use two steam accounts constantly
can confirm family share works.
made a new account after failing to region change 3 weeks ago and have been using family share ever since without issues.
don't ask me about the safety though. I dunno if this makes you susceptible to a ban on the arg or both accounts or something.
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
thanks; i'll consider that. As far as bans are concerned i dont think you have to worry too much.. afaik valve doesn't really give a fcuk about things like creamAPI, VPN , et al (correct me if i am wrong though)
reading there, it seems more a thing with the summer sale and NOT an intentional move from Steam. Apparently last year it was the same thing, nobody could change regions during the sale.
You need to be extra 'special' to talk about it on the Steam forums. I mean seriously, how dumb must one be?
It still worked for me few days after the sale, bit more cumbersome than how others have done it in the past but still. Check the fricking Steam thread if you want to know how I did it.
Finished, clocking 55 hours. Credits rolling in the background as I write this.
That last 2-3 hours were basically a movie with some walking simulator parts. But damn what a great movie it was. Saw the last little "twist" a million miles away.
Spoiler:
Started entertaining the thought at the moment Amelie finds Sam on the Beach as a baby.
Now, to make it 100%...
EDIT: the post credit summary says total play time was 64 hours, but Steam logged 55. Wat.
EDIT2: never mind, refreshed. 67 hours in Steam. I guess that 3 hours were lost due to crashes.
I've replayed MGS4 lately, which I remember being the worst of all 4 MGS games, but it is still a masterpiece compared to MGS5 and Death Stranding IMO.
Even the beginning of MGS4 sets you in the mood, as you said with gadgets and all, and this is kinda lost since MGS5... Specially the story, while it doesnt make sense in the end for MGS4, there is still a story... In both MGS5 and Death Stranding it's confusing right when you begin.
In MGS4 you have mission objectives that makes sense for an agent to do...Anyway, this game isn't bad, but ever since they are doing open world crap, seems it stretches the game with useless parts... I'd rather just rush "rooms" in MGS1234 and be done with it, than walking for hours just to progress...
- Key assignments for Use/Dismount Vehicle can now be set separately to “Perform Action” and “In Vehicle”. You can now set different keys for getting on and off a vehicle.
- When restarting the game after changing key assignments, some key assignments were reverted. This issue has now been fixed.
- Other stability improvements and general bug fixes are included.
- Fixed an issue where frame rate dropped when using Steam Input.
