I have high expectations here, wasteland 2 struggled with budget in development and it showed. I hope they've nailed it this time, fiz the combat and useless skills, keep themes and writing.
The Beta kicks off at 9am PDT, March 17, and offers the first few hours of the final game for you to help us test and provide feedback on. You’ll see the sights and sounds of Colorado, as you take your first steps in a frozen post-apocalyptic wasteland. Note that more than a few things are certainly not final, and we don’t have the world map enabled (you’ll warp from place to place versus driving like in the final game)."
Interesting. So more content than the alpha hopefully.
Yes more/different content than alpha. It should include character creation and some of the starter areas but they also mentioned a lot will be blocked off. Those with the alpha should automatically be getting the beta build.

Who cares about gameplay. It's one of the few next-gen looking titles out there so BRING IT ON.
I never understand why if you are trying to show off something new you would keep that stupid overlay on the screen showing all 8 of your CPU cores temperatures. Sure the FPS reading might be useful but no one cares what your all 8 of your CPU temps are.
The character models remind me of XCOM 2 so at least they look a lot better then the ones from Wasteland 2 and hopefully modding is better for this one and they do not try to make a lot of costume Microtransactions as that customization section is the only thing that looks a little lackluster in the video.
Hope the combat is improved a lot.. it often made no sense in the previous game. e.g person behind big cliff 70% chance of hitting, person just in front of me 25%.. i saw it so many times that eventually i gave up on it because i got pissed. Other than this i liked it. Ive forgotten to check for mods though, maybe it can be modded into something better.
If i remembered correctly, I don't think the maps had bounderies though. Like you could run off in a direction and if you ran far enough that character would just not be an active participant in the skirmish. In other words. I don't think you were locked into the map with invisible walls once a combat encounter starts. (think Original Sin 2) I could be wrong haha.. but that's how I am remembering it at the moment.
Any recommendations out there for RPG games like this one (not necessarily in the same setting)? Well, like WL2, I just didn't want to bump that particular thread.
Steam recommends me:
- Hurrs of Durrs Tactics ()
- Battletech (Strategy and Tactics )
- Disco Elysium (Will play it someday but not just yet)
- Kenshi (looked fun in the sseth review but what doesn't in those? Also, too open worldish)
- Baldur's Gate EE (Will play it someday but not just yet)
- Pillars of eternity series (Looks like the strongest candidate for what I'm looking for)
- Planescape Torment (might play it someday, just not yet and... other possible issues which I'll get to in a moment)
- Battle Brothers (Procedurally generated... mmmyeah no)
- Spellforce 3 (again with the tactics, dafuq )
- Pathfinder King Maker (another strong candidate but there's apparently some management aspects? Not too interested in that)
- ATOM (Has been on my radar for a while, might go with that one too)
Tried the original Fallout a few months back but I just couldn't find a decent compromise between playing it at full res with a tiny tiny UI or at a slightly uglier looking 1024x768 res, but even in that case I found the interface too cumbersome and couldn't get into it.
Which is the other possible issue mentioned above for Planescape Torment.
So what would you recommend me mens?
Just noticed that I probably get those "tactical" recommendations because WL2 has a "Strategy0" tag, huh.

Other good candidates that haven't been mentioned yet are the Shadowrun trilogy (especially Dragonfall, a massive improvement over Returns) and Expeditions: Viking. And of course the good ol' Arcanum as well with the Multiverse patch.
Hell, there's enough material to keep you busy for an entire decade

Have you tried Fallout Fixt? It unfucks the interface making it more usable (among the other things), though the resolution/UI problem is still there.
If you are thinking of playing Pathfinder Kingmaker wait till August when they release the new patch as the Devs are incorporating an official version of the turn based system to the game plus any other updates that they had done in order for the console release so they might have fixed some other minor long standing issues.
