Eh, it's flight-sim after all... I've personally spent more than $500 on FSX addons and I wasn't even all that invested.
What's interesting is that MS (or Asobo I guess) themselves are apparently going to release new content this time around, with helicopters being the obvious first.
MS, 'Red Neck', lol, deciding to introduce DLC 'before' game has released, yeah, 'brassed neck' I'd say.
Game releases on my birthday , so the wife bought me it earlier on the MS site. Refunded, and we will have a nice meal instead. Cash Cow this, more so, after the above announcement.
£109.99, and you have the 'nerve' to charge me extra, for content, already? Fuck off! I wasn't born yesterday! I'd rather watch you-tube vids of someone else playing lol.
downside is you gotta keep paying to keep playing for more than a month
also you have to use the windows store and xbox app
I think they remove games occasionally so they might just remove it after a couple months or something and then you gotta buy it anyway if you wanna keep playing.
for me that option is not interesting at all
fuck windows store/windows 10 apps, and a flight simulator I always play on and off for years and years so it's worthless to have it for a few months through a monthly fee.

The reviews are starting to pop up, and the reception so far is incredibly positive. It currently stands with a rating of 94 on Metacritic from 20 reviews.
That IGN reviewer sounds like he's taking it up the ass from an MS money whore during the video. Yes the game is good, but it isn't even close to the level of shilling he's giving it. Hideous!

I doubt I will buy this game, for I guess I will get bored wth this Sim (not a game) pretty soon, as with all Flight Sims before. And I have 'played' most of them.
Even my Mom could start a plane from a runway with 2 mins of guiding and landing? If you ever did some landing in games before, you can pretty much easily master this one as well.
Yeah, GFX look awesome, but hey...not sure this will entertain me for more than some hours. Guess I'll go for the 1€ first month MS-Gamepass, test my new rig with this one and that should do it.
If you got the time to sit in an airliner for hours of transatlantic flight doing virtually nothing, thats fine, I got better things to do and other games to play. I would have liked a fully simulated crash-model, emergency landings, procedures and what not, but we won't get that. Tbh, I already got bored watching streamers flying from A to B, doing the same stuff over and over again, and what they were doing...wasn't much.
My prediction would be, that after some hype in the first two weeks, this one will quickly disappear into the niche it belongs. If it was a combat sim with land air and sea units and those GFX...yeah...but as it stands, some sessions will do the trick for me and I'll move on to other stuff.
The guy testing for german Gamestar Magazine talked about my hometown (Münster, Germany), as he apparently lived here for some time and mentioned that it is quite detailed ingame with all churches and stuff, so come visit, make sure you give it a try.
I'll go for Lukla first, maybe Saba and Sint Maarten, but landing on JFK, for example...meh. I used to have much fun with landing the Space Shuttle back in FSX on tiny airstrips but hey, it is what it is....not for me, as it seems.

Yea, I think it was the all the massive over-and-over reviews of the graphics that got it hyped outside of its niche to start with though. I think its (majority) target audience is still the ones it mostly aiming for, just the visuals hype train drew the eyes of people outside of it for the eyecandy.
I myself love flight sims, I don't play 1000's of hours a year on them like some. But I do love hopping in x-plane or the old FSX and doing flight plans in a Cessna from airport to airport or sightseeing for a few hours here or there.
It's sort of like Euro/American Truck Simulator...I dont play it ever weekend, but I will on a whim decide to delicate a weekend to it.

These overstress game over are so fucking annoying. Just let me overstress my plane and fly with the consequences instead of immediate game over when im dropping a wee bit too fast in a bush cub
