Hardsuit still not showing any recent gameplay footage after that horrible live gameplay presentation from last year really makes me think that the Devs are going to use this lockdown as an excuse and we probably will not even see the game in 2020. At least Troika had a good excuse for the game being a little janky with Valve screwing them over with the Source Engine but Hardsuit really has no excuses other then being terrible Devs if they really fail to deliver.
Also what is with that Pre-Order outfit letting you dress up like Wesley Snipes as Blade.

I think at this point if you want the perfect RPG it's only gonna be text based or something CDRP can get close to.
The bigger the budget the less risk you can take, but it should help to know that safe bland stale no spice story/writing is no good either. it all depends on how much the devs are stuck in a corporate ecochamber of safe vibes.
I don't mind a lil jank if the atmosphere and ride is interesting but I haven't seen enough to judge.

I guess my post from June was kind of accurate on the release moving to 2021 but at least they did not use the lockdown as an excuse. I still do not think we will see it till probably mid 2021 though or maybe even later if they still do not show any new footage this year.

I just find it incredibly weird that originally this was supposed to be out February 2020.

Just imagine what kind of garbage state the game probably was at the beginning of the year and after Paradox paid all that money for White Wolf I am sure they do not want this to be a huge flop. Paradox did kind of shoot themselves in the foot to begin with by choosing Hardsuit Labs as the devs for the game to begin with so I am hopeful that they will surprise me but I just have a feeling it will not live up to the charm of the Bloodlines name.

It's better this way. There was no safe release window left for this game with all the titles coming out in Q3-4. It was likely to have a fate similar to the original Bloodlines.

I was not following the development too closely but wasn't the game pretty much "content-finished" and they were delaying it to polish the technical side of things?
Maybe they just didn't want to pay him for another 9 months or w/e?

Reading his statement... maybe they thought his anxiety was too much work and dropped him the moment they could. If that were the case: good luck with them ever admitting it, wouldn't be a good look.
Or the usual: some skeletons from the past that re-surfaced or other 'problematic' behaviour.
Then again could just them being greedy cunts and trying to save a buck on production.
Doubt we'll see them respond to the why.

Damn, it's getting really difficult to be optimistic about this project. Between the very rough footage shown many months ago, the multiple long delays, the rumoured ruckus with different internal views colliding, the questionable decision to have she/her Cara Ellison as a senior narrative designer and now Mitsoda's sudden incident, it sounds like something very close to a dumpster fire.
The original Bloodlines was a mess too, but it had proper brilliance in the writing department and a strong artistic direction to make up for the shortcomings, it was a product of another (better) time. Honestly, I'll be incredibly surprised (and pleased) if this sequel will come out in a decent state and won't reek of rotten sushi.

Holy shit, they fired the two guys that pitched the project to Paradox and won the contract. Mitsoda also apparently left his wife to bang Cara Ellison, who I imagine has now inherited his job.
