LOL, yeah, I even forgot I got the CE edition.
And that's just the box, then you open it up and the display with scorpio actually takes 3 times as much space...

That's a nice box though.
Phill, did you completely quit your collection or still held on to some of the more nicer items?

Eh a few months back I'd more hyped, was enjoying WL2. But yeah, this just doesn't seem to gather interest from the "main" game sites, I wond€r why that i$ the ca$€
Shit gimmicks like these are faaaar more important to cover:

Well I'm guessing most people that want it, already backed it.
And for the usual shitty game sites, they'll post a review on release or whatever an embargo may dictate.

Oh, and youtubers... they're all faking hyper emotions with that fall guys game or something. :>

Gameplay looks so poor though
Wasteland 2 was ok, also cause at the day, there was a shortage of these kind of games and rpg's in general.
But this: it's even sub par for an indie title. Inxile is just a poor dev. This is another title that they are working on, it's a joke https://store.steampowered.com/app/1176640/Frostpoint_VR_Proving_Grounds/

It's a relatively niche franchise in the grand scheme of things (sadly!), and being the direct continuation of WL2 probably makes it less interesting to those who didn't actually complete that game at launch and just..forgot about it. I genuinely enjoyed WL2 and I consider it one of the modern cRPG classics, though whether it was because of the technical issues or because of the awkward balance, the game became fully playable only after the Director's Cut re-release.

Anyway, speaking of WL3, the latest update has some nice stuff:
Quote:
Tactical Combat Option: Crouch
You asked for it. We did it. Feedback from the Beta overwhelmingly called out that the absence of crouch made players feel less in control of the tactical options they expected in isometric turn-based combat. In addition to the tactical abilities that characters had control over in the Beta, they will now be able to improve their hit chance, evasion, and detection time when crouching.

Wasteland 3 already had a deep combat system that we think players will be learning to master for quite some time, but we were happy to act on Beta feedback and get this feature in before launch. Crouch is always accessible from the action bar.

UI & You and I
In our previously mentioned update we teased some of the newly-minted options in the UI, including the ability to toggle custom armor visuals, as well as the addition of the much coveted ‘sell junk’ option. Along with those, we’re happy to announce that the merchant interface has also been overhauled and improved. Each individual character will now be able to be selected while you’re browsing a store’s wares, to make for easier comparison and identification of necessary gear.

We’ve also implemented a minimap to help you locate nearby points of interest and vendors. This won’t take the place of the existing map, but will give you an always-available means of identifying where you’re at in the world. For those who prefer less clutter in their lives and on their screen, there’s an option to disable the minimap if you so desire.

Posthumous Permadeath
A few of the more hardcore among you have asked us for permadeath in Wasteland 3. We actually went back and forth quite a bit on this as an option, mainly because we knew the amount of development work it would need. When you can welcome story critical NPCs into your party, and approach the game content in essentially any order, and those critical story NPCs can permanently die from anywhere in the story… it’s a lot to account for. So, we are working on permadeath, but because of the additional effort, this is going to be a post-launch feature we’ll patch in for the hardcore among you for your second or third playthroughs.

DEFCON 1
It’s mind-blowing to think that we’ve reached the final days before the release of the game. We can’t wait to see your reactions and follow along with your adventures as you and your squads work to build a Ranger foothold in Colorado … or bury what’s left of them into the powdery snow. Though we’re soon to cross a milestone with the game’s release, this is a product we’ll be supporting for the foreseeable future, and we’re already cooking on some post-release ideas.

I enjoyed Wasteland 2 a lot but I also remebered being hyped for that title, I even supported the kickstarter. The overall experience was meh l think (though at the time I considerd it good). But I doubt a game like that will be well received today. As said pc gaming was in a bad spot at the day and the kickstarters like Wasteland 2 gave a little hope for classic pc gaming. Wasteland 3 looks realy poor for this era and brings nothing new, people are gonna ignore this.

Yep same sentiment as the rest of you, this game wont be a hit with the masses but i feel they've had enough time and budget this time around to deliver something truly quality. I'm pretty much done with modern gaming but occasionally you get something remeniscent of the good old days and this is one of those titles.

I didn't think Wasteland 2 was amazing, but it was pretty decent, or as they like to say on the Codex "Good for what it is".

Wasteland 3 does mostly look like more of the same, so I'm hoping it'll offer a similar experience. I just hope they've fixed some of the more frustrating balance issues from the first game, such as energy weapons making armour completely useless and actually dangerous, which would be fine if energy weapons were used sparingly, but when every enemy in the late game uses them...

That's rather bold of them, lifting the review embargo before the actual release. I hope they're that confident because they made a quality game.

i dont know what it is with that engine but when fallout 1 and two have more atmosfear and post apocalypse feel, they doing something very very wrong

maybe we have grown to rely to much on 3d nonsence when 2d handdrawn art still is king, i dont care about rotating cameras n all that balony, rarely rotate camera ever in games and when i have to im usually pissed at the game for making me have to do it to see stuff better

Deluxe edition for $20

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

The reviews are not that surprising since Wasteland 2 scored well if I remember correctly but I have to wonder if being an MS game now means we will see the Directors Cut in a year.
