So I just send moniez from one account to another? So why the fuck is everyone using giftcards? There is always a disk buying from key shops. Why aren't people just sending themselves some cash?

Found an old 2012 side acc that I got up and running for this, now to wait for those three days before trying this out

This change was not made to affect the digital steam wallet gift system (which would be a net loss for steam so i doubt they will ever change it) it was made to stop criminals from abusing steam wallet cards they buy anonymously to launder and transfer money.

Thanks for the summary, so in conclusion, I can keep buying the so called "Global" steam wallet codes from my usual online keys store and activate those codes on my ARS account.

If the codes are not for ARS currency cards, they won’t work. |

It seems to be random right now, some people are complaining on Reddit that their "global" cards are no longer accepted for ARG. Not worth the risk.

Using on your 10+ old acc is a pointless test, you might have a high internal trust score on steam

My account is 16 years old and it didn‘t work with two different gift cards, one of them explicitly labeled global. Waiting for the three day grace period to end so I can try gifting to myself from my second account.

Mm'yeah I never figured out (other than paranoia reasons) why people just didn't gift directly through Steam. It always sounded silly that people went to other stores when the costs were the same.
Then again its not like people were even listening to me when the stricter measurements for getting an account in a different region took place.
You still had a page and a half of various tits trying all kinds of ways except the one I said that was working.

Didn't know about the gift cards between accounts method
And I'd still bet that the store gift cards bought here on retail would still work, but this method is much better than having to take that risk.

Unfortunately, you can‘t seem to use your own wallet balance to pay for the gift card, so I guess I will have to create a giveaway for the 10€ card I couldn‘t activate sometime in the next few days...
