The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I'm waiting until user benchmarks come before I decide.
Call it the skeptic in me, but all the huge performance gain charts they showed the 3070 stomping the 2080ti in was all RTX based games. I feel if the 99% of other games that are not RTX was that big or comparable an improvement they would be also be plastering that on a chart to show up.
Unless I missed it, they didn't even mention how much better it does in non-RTX titles, and that seems a bit odd.

That's a good point, but then you need to find out how many RTX games will be coming out in the future
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms
ray tracing is not big yet because the consoles have to catch up, so far is mostly on pc. now that the new consoles will have ray tracing then rtx will be a thing and probably here to stay

Ya I'm with you guys on this.
I haven't really jumped to the hype yet since I'm waiting for proper reviews and don't believe all the marketing crap companies shill out.
I just find it kind of funny how easily people fall for it. :/
I mean yes I expect performance gains from a newer generation and for sure RTX 3080 will be a good card, but I just don't fully yet believe RTX 3070 = RTX 2080 TI since I want to see various tests first and not cherry picked games on a chart.
And once again, I think Nvidia will release RTX 3080 TI and then those 3080 owners will complain since they feel betrayed.
Seems like they didn't bother to add/improve light sources.
Is this the usual Blizzard thing of implementing it in new content and abandon everything older?
That being said, I doubt it has 50% performance decrease in that game.

Shiiiaat! If true, that is insane when you look at what it does.

ur optimism is cute
Has nothing to do with optimism, just have a look at the changes. I'd say its pretty normal to think it wouldn't need 50% more resources.
Ray tracing is coming to World Of Warcraft, look how amazing it looks with 50% performance hit
That video is stupid. It is called Ray trayced shadows. You cant see it properly with shots like this. Also all the On and Off talk makes me crazy.
Performance hit is insane thats true. But it was just added to beta. Maybe it gets better before release of Shadowlands. Or before another expansion
