I guess I want to experience the real thing, not a polygon generated sim while wearing a heavy headset. I envy your experience with military helicopters even though you didn't have time to experience it from a purely civilian/enjoying way.

So, what good modern heli-sims are out there on the PC these days? I haven't played a helicopter game since the last Novalogic war arcade-sim (Comanche 4?).

The new patch significantly improved the performance for me on my old i5-3470 and 1070. It now runs reasonably well on high at 1440p.

Too bad it broke an existing bush trip I was on so now I need to work out a workaround.

It didn't break just that, it broke half the game. Many planes are broken, options are broken etc. Guess QA testing doesn't exist at Asobo.

Okay, damn..

If someone here is rich, please gift me an RTX 3090 for xmas. This is mindbogglingly beautiful and SMOOTH. With my i5 8400 and Geforce 1060 6GB there's no point in me even trying this game out. Razz

Show me how it runs over LAX/LA or over SFO/SF or over JFK/NYC. Those were serious torture tests the last time I have tested. There have been patches since, but I'd like to see how his system is doing over those locations.

So they didn't update the engine yet to support DX12 but already implemented VR?

Man VR at 30fps is.. great.

Vr is pretty broken on Quest 2 Link right now, I can't get it to even takeoff without it crashing. (the game. Not the plane...) Looks like a 2080 Super is just not quite enough.

Got it to work after a lot of hassle.

Needed to install things like OpenXR, update Regedit, bind stupid keys like "reset VR view" otherwise the thing won't let me start.

Anyway, it reduced everything pretty much to low and 80% render size on my old 1070 to make it work reasonable. My landings have actually improved with it and it was very playable -- although graphics look more like FSX rather than FS2020.

In comparison, I'm able to run it on High-Ultra on 1440p without VR, reasonably well.

I'm waiting for 3070 to become available at a reasonable price and then maybe it will be nicer along with another performance patch.

Hmm tried it with the Rift S, it all went without a hitch BUT, the view in VR feels WEIRD, when i move my head things expand and rotate or something, it looks very weird. Was it just me?

did you see your fps? Could be timewarp compensating for running the game at half the desired framerate.

Smooth 60+ fps, i have seen what timewarp does, but this is constant, its like the CENTER of my view is somewhere different to where im actually at. When i turn to see things things kind of rotate weirdly, like im off axis.

I'm gonna try it on my index in a couple days, maybe I can see it too then.

60+ usually is no good btw you need 80+. Anything below native is gonna timewarp
