Got myself Dell S2721DGF. Supposedly it has the same panel as GL850 but comes with a longer warranty and I always had Dell so went with that. High hz is smooth af Very Happy
However ips glow is quite noticeable in dark...not a big deal for me since I usually don’t sit in a dark room but still a bit disappointing because my 8 years old Dell didn’t have such glow imo.

@Przepraszam Please review contrast and black levels. Smile From your subjective pov of course and in comparison to your former monitor.

Oh, and congrats on the purchase.

The Viewsonic Elite series is great, I myself got the XG2405. Out of all the parts I bought to assemble my new PC back in January this one was the best bang-for-the buck by far.

Having only been marginally interested in monitors these last years, I've been trying to catch up these last days since I'm interested in getting a 1440p>144Hz monitor @27" with both free- and G-Sync compatibility.

Here are the results of my research:

So after wasting 2 days looking at reviews and reading through forums, I might just keep my 1200p 60Hz IPS with mediocre contrast but zero glow and BLB or pixel errors and wait a few month more.

Thanks for taking that workload off my back Wink I am basically looking for the same thing, but in 24".

That monitor does sound really nice. Something like that with 1440p and it would be an instabuy for me, but 24" screens with 1440p seem to be quite rare... I really don't wanna go up to 27.

I would say,

If you are not worrying about "burnin" and are to put the TV in a rather dark room, go for LG OLEDs

Otherwise go for Samsung QLEDs

I personally have a 65Q6 QLED and I am pretty amazed with image quality and gaming performances (no ghosting and such and excellent 4K upscaling) when used with PS4 Pro, Switch and my uberPC (streaming via nVidia Share/Steam Link apps)

Wink

Edit: Samsung a will launch new smart TV in January M5 27", 32" and M7 4K 32" which may be replacing my Acer for my PC

Ok, so... I wonder - a 120hz modern 4k TV, how decent are they to use as a monitor?

My desk sits up against a wall, as probably most desks do. But I've realized it's a perfect fit for a 43" or 55" screen. Right now I have a Samsung C32HG70 as my main/center monitor, so that's what I'd replace, and Im perfectly happy with it color/contrast/hz-wise. It's 144hz, but since I would then go from 1440p to 4K, I would definitely be able to live with 120hz, if this idea is feasible.. ?

Example, the Samsung QE55Q90T is being sold for about €1270 right now, how would that work? Sure, I am paying more for its use since that price includes all of it's TV functions etc. But are there any actual monitors in that size that are better and cheaper?

Edit: Hm, there's also the LG OLED48CX for the same price, it's 48" instead of 55, but it's an OLED obvopusly, and it has G-sync.

Just got the AOC 24G2 the other day. It's basically the same as the 24G2U, but without the USB-hub and speakers. Got it for 139 € on Amazon.

I quite like it, 144hz really is the shit. Smoother then a freshly opened glass of Nutella.

The monitor works well, the only thing I noticed is that the image is slightly darker at the left and right edges of the screen (0,5 cm or so). My old IPS monitor (~8 years) does not have that, at least not noticably. Apart from that the colors are different than my old screen, but not necessarily for the worse. Just unfamiliar for now.

I guess I'll keep it because the price was great and I don't think another monitor with such features (144hz, pivot, G-Sync) can match that price. That being said, I am not an enthusiast and it's definitely not a "solves all your wishes" product.

LG is probably the best choice for most (i think, im a bit out of the loop). They're the cheapest and performance is at least very similar. Panasonic for example might have an edge when actually calibrating for example, or slightly better internal processing (even if excluding post processing bullshit like sharpening or whatever, which I just turn off).

I like it, because it allows me to have an OLED and you get a lot of screen space. However, I think 4k is a bit too high for ideal computer usage. If you want to just use the full resolution as is, you probably need to be pretty close and thus use a large range of your FOV causing higher eye or head movement, which could be uncomfortable. Alternatively you could use DPI scaling (which imo is an inconsistent mess in windows) or zoom in, when applications support it (like scaling web pages in your browser).

Some things are just funny though. Chat programs in fullscreen is mostly background Laughing. Or "fully scaling" UI like a certain router maker (AVM) looks just silly because I get almost fist size buttons Laughing

Haha yeah, I thought there would be issues like that Laughing which is ultimately why I decided to hold off on it for now.
A 43"-ish actual monitor would be ideal though, any good ones on the horizon? Around that size and 16:9. I've had ultrawide before, and I do not want it again Razz

So I finally re-entered the mustard race... Upgraded my 1070 to a 3070, and today I got a 144Hz monitor (the LG 27GL850 that was already mentioned here)

The damn thing is huge! I was previously on a Dell U2311H (1080p60 23"). The 27" LG is a giant. Very Happy

At first I thought the 144 Hz wouldn't make *that* much of a difference (I use a 90Hz phone daily). I launched CS:GO and was like "yeah, ok, this seems smooth and all, just like the 60 FPS I was playing on before".

Then I limited the framerate in-game via console command to 60.

Wow. Laughing Guess 60 isn't so smooth after all Crying or Very sad

The Gsync is awesome as well. Tested it in AC Valhalla which was tearing quite a bit on my old monitor. Not a single tear now. Very Happy

Also hot damn, I can't get over how big the screen is. Most of the sites seem to be quite broken on that resolution (including Facebook, which leaves out quite a lot of unused estate).

But the first time I launched AC: Valhalla Very Happy HOW CAN YOU SEE ALL OF THIS AT ONCE UP CLOSE

Ill assume its going to work just fine as long as you can deal with the size. Its only games utilizing 120hz anyway so its likely designed to be somewhat of a gaming tv to being with

My Dell AW3418DW developed a vertical line in yellowish, got replaced under warranty to Dell AW3420DW, no issues. Interesting thing they first shipped me new monitor and then I had to ship back the old one. Very nice of them, helped me with work. And this is in Poland so I am quite suprised about support quality Smile

Sometimes it pays off to invest a bit more in a company that actually has customer service.

Good on you!

Two years ago I've bought the LG 32UD99-W for 530 euros, great monitor and I'm very happy with it. I can sell it for 600 euros now (I bought it cheap). Are there any 4K monitors for 600 euros better than the one I've got now? Or shoudn't I bother? It has to be 2160p since gaming is not that important to me anymore, I'd go for 1440p otherwise.
I've bought it cheap through my company btw, I can't use the scheme for another year since I've bought something this year already. So I'd have to pay full store price this time.

What more than your current monitor do you expect a new one to have?

I can't see anything at that price range that seems to be any better.

Your monitor still goes for 800€ here:

https://geizhals.de/lg-electronics-32ud99-w-a1567898.html

And looking at the Specs, it has quite high contrast ratio for an IPS, and all the bells and whistles you can ask for a monitor at that price range and at that size.

Plus, if you're happy with it now, better keep it. Getting a new one you will be playing the panel lottery again and you never know if the new one hasn't got worse backlight bleeding or worse IPS glow or something else you don't want to have.

edit: PRAD.de gives it 5/5 stars, which really means something.

I don't think you could find an upgrade for 600€ at the moment.

FALD is out of your pricerange and higher Hz Panels at 32" on 4K don't seem to exist right now, afaik.

I decided to ditch 8k support(which is currently useless) in favor of focusing on 4k 120hz, going to get new TV around mid 21, Sony seems to be more and more tempting cuz the android tv instead of in house OS like LG and Samsung, I am hoping for proper 2.1 hdmi for their next models.
