Does the VPN time trick work on unlocking this? Or has that hole been patched (global release time etc.)?
I think they do global releases since access/prime EA Play/play pro.
Edit:
Out now.
Well its not that bad could be fun for couple of hours. I have a feeling the MSI Afterburner readings for fps are not right at all. Its showing 120+fps but it feels sluggish like 30-40fps.

VR Is Not Good... I have no idea if it's me, but it's a juddery mess, even with settings reduced. Definitely not the buttery smooth we've seen in other vids...

I thought I was going crazy for a few hours there - but same problem here. NVIDIA overlay is showing like 130+, feels like it's fucking 30. Not sure what's going on.
Controls/flightmodel are a floaty, inaccurate fucking mess - largely due to the fact that you can't disable mouse "joystick emulation". You can deaden it a bit with a slider, but never turn it off.
haven't tried VR myself yet, but the game seems pretty solid to me (performance maybe not perfect and i'll definitely see that in VR)
it took me a good 30 minutes to do the tutorial fleet battle but it was pretty fun (although at times it felt like the AI didn't care too much about shooting me - tutorial thing hopefully)
feels like it's got a bit of depth to it
for joysticks, set sensitivity to 100% to get rid of the deadzone and other weird shit.. i'm using a ps3 controller using rc style controls and it's not bad.. not sure if i want to try using a stick or keep using controller for vr
Wow the game in VR sucks. The Instruments are so big you see fucking nothing from space or the action. And whats with the controls? I plugged in my Thrustmaster Hotas and i have serious problems to hit , i cant fine tune in on anything. Im disapointed and refunded.
Once the technical issues are fixed and the game is playable (seems to be standard procedure nowadays), I'm looking forward to playing the Campaign. Not that it will be cracked anytime soon.
It will likely be as good as the reviews say - after it is patched
If the publisher nowadays can only release games in early access state they deserve to get review bombed.
Think one of my biggest complaints so far is while the game recognised both the T16000 and the throttle as individual devices, it never seemed to actually assign anything to them in terms of controls. I had to manually assign them. Unless I missed something.
I like the cockpits tbh, they're not supposed to be fully panoramic, although in VR i did slightly cheat by calibrating the view while crouching in my char so I could see a little bit higher up.
Tie cockpits are especially awesome.
I hope the AI is tweaked. It's useless. Hiding in corners of the map, flying into walls.. not ideal.
There is a good game hiding in there, but it's hampered by pretty boring gameplay modes. Admittedly I've not yet tried multiplayer.. I might see how that goes before declaring my judgement on it...

yeah you can play the fleet battles with just AI (coop with randoms or solo, including offline) and they're actually pretty good at the game mode.. or at least i'm not winning by default
Well I liked this, maybe even could consider buying this at some point since I only finished the SP via EA play Pro.
I mean I'm always ready to kill some rebel scums in a space shooter and even though the controls were a bit wonky and the ship stats made me laugh, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot.
Graphics wise it looks good and even though the story is the same old(won't spoil it), it is told from the perspective of both Empire and Rebellion. Having you switching between the two factions every few mssions and both having their own "main character" that you can customize.
I liked that aspect and even the ending(s) were good in my book.
Installed, but it redirects to Origin Launcher during the install, for whatever reason. Can't be started from Epic launcher, even though it says "in library" if you search.
So I click Play in Origin, now the Epic Launcher pops up and it shows my 2 installed games (none of them are Squadrons). So its like Epic Launcher wants to have the game in Origin, but when you're in Origin it's like "ah no, this is Epic store game, let's pop that one up so he can play from its launcher."
Ultimately nothing happens when i click either its desktop shortcut or "Play" in Origin because none of the launchers thinks its their game.
Great purchase... Time to look for some yarrrr version.
Also i'm never buying another game from Epic store again.
Can't wait when a game requires 3 launchers + also obviously requires you to login to EA or Bethesda etc (and there's always one who's lost the user/PW so you have to look it up and log in before you play). fuck this shit
I only ever bought Satisfactory on Epic Store (shame on me, but the game is awesome), but took a plethora of free games in the time, none of which I ever installed.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Maybe it works if you use the EA desktop app instead of Origin, since that's the one that is required when playing EA games with Xbox game pass on PC.

I refuse to install even more launchers.
Anyways, i can get it to work now (reinstalled) if i search for the game in Epic launcher. It's really annoying to have to use search (it can't be saved as a recent game i'm playing or as a favorite).
Really great in VR and HOTAS, total hassle to just start the fucking game, then you have to mess with VR every time also a bit of a hassle.
I was curious about the campaign but honestly, even those measly 49 cents didn't feel like a complete bargain. The actual missions' structure and related Disney-approved writing are that dull, sadly. The presentation is definitely competent though and the flying model works for what it is, which should be enough if one's craving for
It's very Disney indeed. I don't care a lot about the story, never expected it to be good to begin with for this type of game.
Wish we could have a X4'ish open world Star Wars game... being able to be empire, bounty hunter, trader, rebel, droid, hutt/"mafia".. there's so much cool shit they could do if they wanted SW = "made for casuals", always.

X4 has a Star Wars mod that might interest you.

Who cares about gameplay. It's one of the few next-gen looking titles out there so BRING IT ON.
Oh, cool. I was kind of hoping that because it's a game i've purchased but haven't looked into yet.
Be careful with this game, it has damaged something in my computer... it's really unstable now. hope it's not the graphics card. When i played it i used my VR headset so i didn't hear how fast the fans speeded up at first, but then there was a loud rattling that eventually caught my attention, like a fan that is spinning so fast that its about to fly off or something.
turned off the computer. restarted and checked temp and such, i noticed how high the FPS goes in menus and so forth, it's in the thousands and it puts immense strain on the graphics card, the game itself even on ultra also runs with hundreds of FPS. so its a must to cap the FPS or it will make your computer work like crazy.
I have a hard time even booting the PC now and its very unstable. I'll look for a new PSU first i guess...
