My "strange habit" in gaming is, that i can play like 12 hours straight, i lose sense of time completely if the game is good, sadly games are not that good anymore, but once in a while when WoW expansion or Diablo style games comes, i play like mad man and i love the feeling.

I somehow keep collecting armor sets in RPG games with a mind to upgrade it and use it later. Never did. Since I find better and better gear throughout the game.

Kind of bad habit which builds my backlog: I do not play newly released games. Given the state games are released right now, I always wait for fully updated, game of the year, complete edition with all the expansions. I think I finally layed Witcher 3 with all expansions last year, years after release date. Same will happen with Cyberpunk.

Probably more of a good one than a "strange bad habit" but I can't replay games. There are only 3 that I've ever played again after finishing - Gothic 2, Freelancer and Silent Hill 2. After that I just can't play a game that I already finished no matter how I loved it. Even recently tried to play Gothic 2 again and some others older games but just couldn't get back into them. Once I am done, I am done. Even if for some reason I couldn't end I can't play them again after months or years neither from the save or anew (like with both Divinity: Original Sin. The first one my GPU died somewhere at 60 hours into the game, the sequel - my ram broke shortly after I started Act 3 - at least I learned I didn't miss anything worthy on that one).

Also why I can't play MMO's for longer than 1-2 month (except Lord of the Rings Online and Neverwinter Online). But on others like Lineage 2, WoW, Eve Online, Elder Scrolls, Guild Wars etc the most I can do it so finish the story and/or get to max level with 1 character and never touch them again.

I have this gaming habbit that everytime I wanna play a game, I instead go to political sites and bitch about how women are biologically inferior to men and then I complain about the downfall of judeo-christian western coulture because I cannot get laid and eventually end up with a big black dick in my mouth.

It's so strange... Laughing

My biggest gaming stupidity, collecting shit even though I actually hate it. To this day I have no idea why I wasted time collecting feathers and packages, stupid. I also collect things in rpgs "for later use". By the time I want to use it, either the item is obselete or the game ends. I suck.

I play few games now though, so I rarely play bad games.

The only strange habit that I have is starting too many games at the same time, but unless I feel particularly disgusted by my biggest archenemies such as excessive grind, arcade-ness and awesome buttons, I always finish them...eventually. I just enjoy having various different experiences available so that I can jump from title to title without feeling too much fatigue.

When there's a game that particularly grabs me I do manage to focus and dedicate all my time to it like a hermit though, it's been a rarity in the past couple of years but...it can definitely happen. Kingdom Come, Subnautica, Hollow Knight, Disco Elysium (and so on) all managed to make me go full giggity just like the old times, and hopefully I'll be able to find more genuine enjoyment among the ones that are still inside my backlog sack.

+ 1 for saving games later. Especially if I expect that there's going to be dlc later... (might play for 2-3 hours on the release date and stop, even if it's a great game)
+ 1 for ruining the game for my self by doing just side activities... until I get bored with the game and barely progress at all in the main quest (fallout and elderscrolls series in general Razz)

I also always want to start the game on the hardest :I even if I have no clue what I'm doing. I feel like that I don't get the full experience on the easier difficulty. -> sometimes leads into frustration and I just stop playing the game (especially if the game does not support switching the difficulty without restarting the game)

Not strange but actually a pretty common habit, "resource farming" games, you save up everything but once you require a certain material you rather farm it all over again instead of taking it out of a chest/storage you already have stacks of them in. True hoarder gene

When you think it through it's insanely stupid Laughing

I have this habit too. Horde everything till kingdom come when you could have used to materials to upgrade during the course of your journey and not have it till the end when the game is almost over.

I remember doing this when I first played Metro 2033. Everybody kept saying the ammo is too scarce so be cautious. I took it quite literally and played so carefully that by then end I had so much ammo that I could unleash World War III. Very Happy

Then of course there is the OCD of 100% completion, which I think some of can relate to for game completion.

-installing tons of games at once but playing a couple of them and forgetting what I installed
-right now having a fuck ton of games on mutliple services I tend to whine because I don't know what I want to play
-BLOODY BACKLOG
-in RPGs always hoarding on health potions and almost never using them, because they will be needed in boss fight
-collecting legendaries in ARPGs even I want use it on other characters
-hoarding items in rpgs because they might be needed
-playing on difficulty that clearly is too hard for me but rarely changing it to easier because it might be too easy and easy is for console peasants Wink

Buying games because it looks like something I liked but never really looking deeper into gameplay and then dissapointing myself is my biggest bad habbit.

I tend to postpone finishing the games I enjoy 'a lot'.

I also keep (reinstalling and) returning to games that made me feel immersed into their universe: Rapture, Sevastopol, Athkatla, The City, PATHOS-II.
