I gave this a quick go just there, graphically I didnt think there was too much of a difference over last years game which isn't a bad thing - the crowds do look like crap though and funnily enough the game makes a point of zooming in on them in the build up to the fight. When you start to play it though you immediately notice how different the gameplay is. I started an exhibition between Joe Frazier (me) and Floyd Paterson (cpu) and tryed to play the game in the style of Fight Night Round 2 and was on my ass within the first round, simply wading in with haymakers doesn't work they'll get blocked alot and you get countered with an even harder punch and I also had to really work at blocking and bobbing and weaving to draw and avoid punches giving me a chance to counter.

The fight went on and as I adjusted to the changes I managed to outbox Paterson, catching him with a stun punch (where the game changes to first person) and knocking him down 3-4 times over the course of a fight that went 4 rounds, he also caught me with a lucky punch knocking me clean down. The cpu had a habit of grabbing me whenever he was going to be floored leading to discussion of the fight being called a win for me if he couldn't defend himself. Its fair to say this wasn't a typical fight for me in Fight Night, much more exciting seat of the pants stuff with the fight swinging back and forth - for the larger part the fight was anybodys to win.

The game appears to only run in NTSC mode btw, I know its an NTSC region disc but thought I would point it out anyway. Smile

it'll only run in ntsc?? my tv won't play well on that, it swaps between colour and b&w all the bloody time.

Anyone at all confirm it running properly in PAL??

If not, any clues as to when the pal version is surfacing??

You could try an RGB scart lead. If you get a basic one of e-bay it shouldn't cost much.

I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

Your probably better off with the PAL version anyway to be honest russ_beer, I've always found when running NTSC games on PAL Xboxes set to NTSC mode that the graphics/colours have that washed out look about them they just don't look as nice as a title would do if it were a game running in the machines native region.

I may even grab the PAL myself just to see how much better it looks. Razz

Easy..Upgrade your fucking scart cheap skate.

Engima set to an NTSC eemprom works for me and it has color just a little bit darker but not to bad.

For your infos i have a xbox pal version 1.1 and excuter 2.0 lite and last bios...and i have put my console on ntsc mode with enigma video scwitch and game work and no black and white for me in COLOR OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please listen to him, it is not his xbox or his scart lead it is his tv thats the problem. i have the same problem on one of mine that it will only play in black and white but i now use a different tv for playing games. this one looks good and the kids love a good boxing game.

Same Problem here .. only shown in B/W on PAL-TV-Set. So I'm waiting for PAL-Rls, because nobody is able to build a Patch. Shame!

The Pal-Fix for GTA got released very fast, but where's the one for this nice game ..

The Scene is getting inferior :/

thank christ for twinzxx and el astronauto who read posts instead of Bouli67 and anakin867 who clearly don't. I have a perfectly working scart lead and video selector for my xbox, tosspots, i just don't have a spare £500 for a new 32" flatscreen tv just so i can play one game for 2 weeks when i can just wait for a pal release.

And no-one on here can call anyone a cheapskate.

BTW I only asked if there was a patch, or when the pal version was out. I didn't ask for your comments on my av setup, which is more than adequate.

It is a good one fool. Its a 32" WS flatscreen Phillips DVB tv that cost over £1000 about 2 years ago. I'M NOT GETTING ANOTHER TV FOR 1 GAME YOU FUCKWIT. Christ, anyone who buys a new tv just for that needs their head examining.

And its out in colour, on PAL in about 2 weeks. Christ you are a fucking lunatic.

I played this one last night finally. Great game but I have an Xbox360 and Im waiting for that version although that one will cost me money lol. I hope the 360 is as fast paced as this.
