Last night I did install Taiga and created an account on AniList, added the shows I follow and it works as both a catalog with detailed info about the shows I follow (episodes etc.) as well as built-in automatic torrent search for new episodes. Works pretty damn well actually but the thing about Horriblesubs that I liked was that I could check out a limited amount of new anime (or just click on one show and see what it was about) instead of dredging through huge lists of random anime episodes, look them up on MyAnimelist and decide if I want to check it out or not.
However, the limited number shows that they had (since they released only HS-subbed releases and they simply didn't have enough translators to sub every damn new episode of every running anime going on) means I've missed out on non-HS shows that I might have loved but have no clue about their existence.
not really HS was always just about ripping stuff from Funimation/crunchyroll streaming paltforms ... and there were always numerous groups and teams doing that and still do .
Its just they had best site for it
Stormwolf, have you watched Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul yet?
Spoiler:
Finished it now. I have mixed thoughts about it. Made in abyss was never realistic by any means, but i thought it ventured a bit into absurdity and shonen territory. What i liked the most about the series was the sense of adventure, even if it could be cruel. this movie didnt have that, it was mostly just cruelty for the sake of it. The arc itself was mostly fine for the most part, but the fighting, cruelty for the sake of it and questionable logic did drag it down a bit.
I loved it, read it in the manga beforehand, its a great piece of the puzzle, the whole how the white whistles are born, plus the idofront being an old ritual place turned modern research lab with the nutjob
Wtf is even going on in those new Evangelion movies, haven't watched any so far but saw the trailers to first 2 like a decade ago and they seemed to be a remake of the show with higher budget etc., this looks like a completely different show now

Crazy Anno's plan is always simply tax evasion, Anime just happens on the way
Getting Deca-Dence as we speak; the HS 1080p batch release with each episode at ~1.3GB although the difference between 720p and 1080p isn't that noticeable due to the nature of anime animation. I set the frame rate interpolation on my SmartTV to max which makes all the panning in scenes smooth as silk instead of stutter while the characters and objects pretty much stay as they are, possibly a bit smoother. Anime is the only use for the max setting; watching movies with that on makes it look like a horrible 60fps movie (which completely ruins the cinematic feel and turn it into a live broadcast at 60fps I love Smart TV's.
Just finished Highschool of the Dead which I've just seen in lists (AniList and MyAnimeList) and discarded it as shounen without looking more into it. It was actually quite fun although not a show to take very seriously. It's a weird mix of zombie action, character build-up, comedy, gore, ecchi (esp. scantily clad main female characters that just have to show their camel-toe panties and tits for no reason other than to thrill the young adult males (and I must sadly admit that it added some spice to the show) but for some reason I found it very enjoyable. Not very deep but well made and apparently it's got a lot of fans who wishes for a second season, something that could be difficult since the creator and writer Daisuke Sato passed away from coronary heart failure in 2017 and never finished the manga (for obvious reasons). There's some whispers that a US anime company may create a sequel. However, the 12 episodes that were released in 2010 as well as the OVA that was released in 2011 flowed pretty well and didn't leave any major cliffhangers.
AAAanyway, here's a reminder or two:
Shingeki no Kyojin - The Final Season: Dec 7, 2020 - ~1 month left
Yakusoku no Neverland S2: Jan 8, 2021 - ~2 months left
I just read every available chapter of a manga called Fumetsu no Anata e (To Your Eternity / To You, the Immortal):
Quote:
It, a mysterious immortal being, is sent to the Earth with no emotions nor identity. However, It is able to take the shape of those around that have a strong impetus.
At first, It is a sphere. Then, It imitates the form of a rock. As the temperature drops and snow falls atop the moss, It inherits the moss. When an injured, lone wolf comes limping by and lays down to die, It takes on the form of the animal. Finally, It gains consciousness and begins to traverse the empty tundra until It meets a boy.
The boy lives alone in a ghost town, which the adults abandoned long ago in search of the paradise said to exist far beyond the endless sea of white tundra. However, their efforts were for naught, and now the boy is in a critical state.
And that entity is the main character. It was absolutely amazing and I loved it, keep in mind it's not finished yet. It's pretty dark in tone in the first half of the available chapters, then it gets just a little less dark but it's still good.
Anywho, the reason I'm mentioning it in here is because it's going to get adapted into an anime that will air in the Spring of 2021 and unless they really fuck up the adaptation, it's going to be a wild ride.
You should add it to your lists so you don't miss it next year:

As long as it doesnt end in nakama goopedy gook like every damn thing from japan these days. It sounds interesting though
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
