You mean UK stuff like Ali G where the Borat character is from?
@Leo: They copied this gag from the first movie where everybody just talks any language or some gibberish. Azamat f.e. always talked in his native tongue armenian while Borat answered in some other language.

I know he's from UK but his show really feel like US production. US comedy is meh at best. They're too easily amused, little to no effort is required.

I would have agreed a couple of years ago that british comedy was the best...but the last 20 year or so have really shitty when it comes to british movies/series.
Their standup comedians are brilliant though.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
I think many people here are missing the point, about what this movie is and what it isn't.
It's not a "comedy" to start with. It has comedic scenes, yes, but that doesn't make it a comedy.
It's actually sad, rather than funny, if you listen to what the people say, answer and are willing to do without even the slightest hint of hesitation.
If you haven't seen his tv- show yet, "Who Is America", I highly suggest watching that.
While Sacha was always about having a comedic side, the main reason he does what he does is to provoke thought about the absolute horrors and extremism, that people are willing to portray in front of cameras, when they think they're "among equals".
The sheer amount of racism, antisemitism and bigotry showed by those people in the movie is something we absolutely should be afraid of.
And yeah, it's in the US, but trust me, in Europe it would be the same, just with a European touch instead of the American one.
I stopped after 40 minutes. When does the funny begin
I stopped the original after 10 minutes, I do not find his characters funny at all. I do not like most things from "comedy" genre anyway.
I highly prefer UK comedy to US produced stuff. Mrs Brown's Boys (the older eps specifically), 'Allo 'Allo, Mr. Bean, Keeping Up Appearances, IT Crowd. Still funny after all these years and good rewatch value Still need to watch Father Ted, only watched bits of it but seems funny too
