Why is delay so important? I do not have problems with delay, so what, amazing how you all overreact, we all waited for how long, and now is 43 days a big problem. It's like CD projcet murder your whole family, jeeesus, chill down people.

The problem here is that if they delayed it with 20 days left (after it went gold, mind you), they could easily do it again.

Just expect this to come out Mach 2021 and you'll probably not be disappointed by another delay.

Unless they just delayed release again and you're reading this comment March 2021.

I guess the PCMR gets a bit miffed when games get delayed because of console cert shenanigans. Razz

I waited this long, I can wait a bit more. Smile

Because another delay this close to launch is never a good sign for a title that was announced before the PS4 was. My expectations have been low for some time now anyway, but there's definitely a lot of raging going on. Laughing

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it is what it is, I'll likely end up isodemoing it properly in 2021 anyway. I just hope it won't disappoint me too much.

I did the same thing, I pre-ordered from Steam, because I want to play it there but I have the collectors edition ordered as well, probably gonna give the GOG key to my brother. (i pre-ordered the CE mostly for the goodies anyway, plus it looks hella cool)

They should have taken enough of a delay the first time around is what I see as their biggest fault.

The only reasonable stance one should have is: wanting a polished game rather than one that needs multiple patches because it released to soon.

Feel disappointed because you want to play it sooner than later, that's normal... but don't get mad.

And if you took days off and are annoyed by that... there were enough examples in the entertainment business to know that during the pandemic we are in: nothing is certain.

At least over here its not as raging as the WoW forums when Shadowlands got delayed. Laughing

Imagine if they planned properly and delayed it with 6 (or more) months to begin with. So they can complete it in a normal fashion with maybe the (usual) last week or two being crunch.

But hey, there is no bad management when things require crunch... right? Laughing

The strangest thing in all of that is that once again, everyone from the CDPR team learned about the delay the same time it was a posted. This was confirmed by Jason Schreier as well, who said that "all of them found out at the same time we did - CDPR sent an internal email simultaneously with the public tweet".

It's strange because this apparently happened with the "Going Gold" tweet, a lot of people in the CDPR team were surprised that the game was going gold and with the first and second delay as well.

https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1321141445089206275

Also this reddit post from a "CDPR developer" that has been confirmed by Jason Schreier:

Maybe this is a reaction to all the muh crunch is bad articles about the games. Some crunch is normal in work fields where you cant really know what comes up, like software dev. Never seen a software project without crunch, As long as those overtime hours are paid it is ok.

But after all those articles maybe they thought ok no required overtime now because of bad press -> delay needed

Yeah, even though hindsight is 20/20 I agree with that.

Of course they are not, never said they are. It is just that all the crunch articles and the big outrage is getting old, lots of people have to deal with crunch at the end of projects. So all these woe the poor devs lamentations annoy me.

The interesting part is, that they announced more delay after going gold. so either there is some really big unexpected problem, or it is actually a reaction to bad press/pressure. No idea which.

Crunch only became bad when the addle minded people got brainwashed by their utub gods. Crunch is normal with an approaching deadline in many jobs. Well, unless we want delays and we can see in this thread what happens when we get delays. First complain that they work crunch, then complain that it got delayed Laughing maybe they had crunch time for a reason? LaughingLaughing

I'm happy with the delay Razz

More time to play new watchdogs and ass creed, and I think there was also a 3rd 'big' release coming at the same time... (or at least something for games I play)

Crunch time is fine if you're compensated for it Razz

I have crunch with 0 compensation. (ie. no extra pay, OR getting the extra work time off as free time) -> everyone is forced to sign same kind of contract.

For me it's luckily only ~4-5 weekends / year.

Anyway, just drunken ranting on a holiday Razz
