From everything we've seen to date, even before Mitsoda got the ass, VTMB2 seems to be very much akin to Ghostbusters (2016). It's trading on the name of the original, but is clearly not intended for fans of the original.
I'd like to make fun of the absurd state of modern gaming, but it's so genuinely sad and the bad news are so frequent these days that hopeless apathy is all that's left at this point. Positive thinking has become a rare luxury, for every glimmer of hope there's a truckload of pathetic annoyances and shitty decisions dictated by pure greed and/or by simple incompetence. No wonder we're so damned grumpy
Honestly, I think it's safe to say it's over at this point. We, (or at least I) seem to have aged out. Those series' that I have such fond memories of - that I'd go so far as to say form the cornerstone of "this is why I'm a gamer" stand no chance in hell of being brought back to the forefront at this point. Between the nickel'and'dime chop to bits mentality of DLC, and the whole "I'm Offended" bullshit culture, no developer or publisher has the balls to go back to the glory days of what made games like VTM:B great.
I'm not sure why I held out a little hope on this one as long as I did, perhaps I was hoping for one last huzzah as it were, that'll teach me.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Yep, better these franchises rest in peace at this point. I dislike their legacy being sullied by these soulless revivals.
Another case of "I have no idea if this is true, but it sure sounds plausible"
Spoiler:
I'm assuming the implication must be that Mitsoda was one of those leads bullshitting Paradox, but that doesn't strike me as particularly likely. Both because he did have experience with large-ish teams at Troika and Obsidian, and because he was only handling narrative, not systems design.
So it sounds like Cara Ellison has now also been removed from Bloodlines 2. She has removed mention of it from her Twitter bio and has apparently moved back to Scotland. Is someone with LinkedIn able to do some Hump investigative journalism?

It seems very probable. Codexers all believe she's been canned.
Who knows what's going on. Hardsuit Labs seems to be another games company with awful project management.
I'm not even sure I should ask a refund of the 6 euros I paid for it at Diego's store
For me its a matter of principle. I don't want my money to end up in their pockets. I'll isodemo this for all its worth and we'll see how long i can even stomach playing it.
Things might be looking grim, but fortunately, a new talented narrative designer just stepped in

On her Twitter, Samatha Wallschlaeger announced that she had become the new Lead Narrative Designer at Hardsuit Labs. She’s worked for several developers in the past, including BioWare and Monolith.

Welp, so much for the narrative being finished. The one hope with this was at least that Mitsoda's story content was all done so that even if the game was complete garbo we could still experience the story he had planned.
Another classic franchise raped and ruined by revival.
The latest round of news is not encouraging. The Paradox CEO has said the game is unlikely to come out until the second half of 2021:
Spoiler:
STOCKHOLM (Nyhetsbyrån Direkt) Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud does not believe that Vampire: the Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, whose launch time has been moved forward twice, will be launched during the first half of 2021.
Paradox is the publisher of Bloodlines 2, which is developed by the game studio Hardsuit Labs, of which Paradox owns 33 percent. It was originally intended that the launch would take place in the first quarter of 2020, a time that was later changed to the second half of 2020 and then changed to 2021.
You have left the time quite wide open for when next year the game may come. Is it conscious that you do not dare to promise the first half of the year?
"I do not think it will come in the first half of the year, but we will see", says the CEO.
The schedule for Bloodlines 2 has been affected by both staff dropouts and the pandemic. The delays led to Paradox making the decision to adapt the game also for the new console generations Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X which have been released recently. This adaptation work has in itself contributed to the delay in the launch.
"To be able to develop for the next generation, you have to have development kits from the manufacturers. And I'm pretty sure that both Sony and Microsoft were affected by the pandemic because they did not have many development kits," comments Ebba Ljungerud.
Paradox has earlier this year flagged that the pandemic has affected productivity and that there is a risk that, above all, game titles that have not yet been communicated will be delayed.
And with a second pandemic wave now spreading, there was not much breathing pause, was there?
"It depends a bit on which countries we are talking about, but it was a bit of a breathing pause. Now it will be a bit tougher again and it is not great. At the same time we are building long-term and preferably you would not want any delays at all. part of the business and something we are used to handling ", says Ebba Ljungerud.
In addition to Bloodlines 2 and Surviving the Aftermath, games that were announced as early as 2019, your launch calendar for 2021 looks a bit thin.
"We do not really know how the delays affect yet and we would like to know internally when we can release something before we announce it. It takes longer and becomes more complicated, but it is not the case that it is not possible. And you look at how the accounting "looks like it can be seen that we are investing a lot for the future so there are definitely things in the pipeline. There is a long way to go until next year is over", says Ebba Ljungerud.
Apparently the writer they hired to replace Cara Ellison is some chick that worked on ME Andromeda, so that will undoubtedly work out well.
And Hardsuit has a new posting for Audio Director, a job which was apparently previously being done by Rik Schaffer and his wife. Schaffer did the music for the original Bloodlines, and was working on Bloodlines 2's music. So they have possibly quit or been fired.
