Yup, pretty boring game. Finished neither of the first two games, most likely won‘t finish this one either. The different operators thing is a nice idea, recruiting them is a chore. Don‘t have a problem with the characters but the story in the first few hours is just meh.
As usual in such games, the AI sucks and is easily exploitable („Oh, that’s the 3rd guy in the last few minutes that died from an explosion and I got knocked out twice, let‘s all walk a little bit faster for 30 seconds and then just forget about it.“) so there is never any tension to the missions.
Performance is okayish for me, after fiddling around and never getting decent results, I just used the settings recommended by GFE and am getting relatively stable 55-70 FPS on an i9-9900k, 32GB RAM and a 2080ti in 1440p.

Got the uPlay+ pass (or whatever the fuck they're calling it this day of the week) for this and AC: Valhalla. I couldn't stomach more than 5 hours of this crap. The follower recruitment stuff is WAY too repetitive location and objective wise. The combat is crap. The driving is atrocious. The radio stations entirely forgettable. The story may be good, but I'll never know. In the bin it went, precious HD space reclaimed, but $15 still gone.
Hopefully AC can get me some value on that $15 in a couple weeks - otherwise I'll be feeling really shitty about my decision.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

The second game was gag reflex inducing when it came to it's characters and just the overall theme in general. I don't know how I even managed to complete it.
The moment I saw this game, it was instantly clear, this was probably going in the same fuckin' direction. Nice to see your comments echo that feeling. Going to skip this one.
I think the first game was still a bit decent. I liked the setting and the tone. It had potential which the sequels seemed to have squandered.

Looking at these early impressions, I'm not sure I'm going to bother to try to run it on my pc.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Can they do a half-decent game for once ? First one had horrible driving, second one horrible presentation and this one.. well.. I'm not so sure I want to spend $60 to find out given the reviews that I've seen so far. I want a good new game to play dammit !

It doesn't? I thought it was fairly simple: not enough time, internet dropping out means it takes longer for him to complete the games rather than you doing it in a months worth of subscription.

It downloaded a patch
Was that the patch that was supposed to help performance?
Cause it still runs not great on my 3700X & RTX 3080

getting around 55fps on average with my system specs below at 1440p mostly on ultra settings with a few things like shadows toned down and no motion blur (always turn that garbage off)
My specs:

Also, they made too many surfaces reflective just so they can showcase Ray Tracing. But it completely backfires, as reflection resolution is not high, and because of this it looks as though the vast majority of surfaces are low res. And DLSS makes it worse, it's simply a blurry mess.
Atrocious graphics.
Shame on "journos" for not pointing this out. Seems all they care about these days is simply a SJW agenda. Fuck quality.

I mean, RT isn't too bad:
https://gfycat.com/oilyphonychicken-raytracing
Going by that Hardware Unboxed video, I had one setting that I toned down a notch and now I'm averaging 65fps on my system on 1440p on mostly ultra settings in open world. That benchmark is useless.

I have a feeling the technology is in infancy and has been rushed to the market. Hopefully with newer directx implementations and better refinements will see better performance out of it.

The hardware just isn't there for raytracing. AAA game struggle at 4k allready.
BTW I think watch dogs looks like arse, but more from an artistic point. Models are basic, animations suck, londen is a big grey wall of repetitive victorian buildings. All the post processing in the world can't fix that. IMHO graphical quality these days is more dependend on the talent of devs and the amount of manhours (and budget) spend then the actual tech behind it. RDR2 is a good example: basic graphics for current (or previous) gen but a lot of attention to detail and manpower were put into the game so for me it's still the benchmark for a good looking game.
You can max out the graph settings of an avarage game to ultra (like watch dogs), but it will still look mediocore.

Period? Period? HELL FUCKING NO thats your opinion. Yes sometimes it reflects a bit too much maybe but overall fucking good looking. Why would I promote anything? RTX is a real time reflection system it is damn nice overall there is no downside except the fucking bad performance. At least we have DLSS for that shit....
And also yes they fucked down the graphics so RTX looks especially nice sure. But that doesnt make RTX shit not at all.
I love hacking fucking drones and let them fuck enemies for me.
