view model fov is completely forgotten these days, fucking hate those big guns that are made for big TVs.
Played Q3A last weekend and that's what I had on my mind. Just seeing that tiny bit of the weapon on the endge of the screen (or completly removing it) is a cool option to have.
Yep, it should be possible to resize and remove/customize parts of the HUD, or at least it's what they promised on their KS page. Fingers crossed because it's looking interesting indeed.
The beta features 2 levels + a short bonus level (custom level from the editor apparently also work).
Finished the 2 levels and my first impression is very positive.
yeah there's a whole bunch of levels from alpha testers on there.. making one myself it's not too bad once you get over the initial effort of learning the stupid hotkeys.
it still takes a lot of time but it's not unmanageable for plebs i think.. just wish they had some prefabs and autoroom creation tools.

Try a few custom levels, I got my ass kicked - doesn't mean anything though
I've played the short beta that's floating about, despite some whimsy bits (lack of quicksaving, occasionally approximative hit detection, etc) it felt pretty promising. The combat is extra-meaty with feedback and effects reminiscent of Brutal Doom which is always a plus, and the art design with shading simulated through pixels feels inspired enough to avoid the knock-off effect. The level design seems competent as well, though it's early to tell.
The default HUD is abysmal, but thankfully the minimal one resized to 0.3 looks alright:

You can hide it and even hide the gun, no option to resize the crosshair though. It definitely can turn into a pleasant title, hope they don't fuck this up.
This is easily the best FPS of the year, I started it yesterday and pretty much didn't put it down til early morning.
Pro's:
Graphics: I think it looks gorgeous and it's all i need from an FPS.
Sound: The gun sounds in this game, fucking perfect. Why are AAA studio's so shit at this?
Music: Spot on.
Level Design: They've built feedback into early access, played the first 6-7 levels twice and they've done a really great job.
Other: Incorporated timed weapon challenges that are fun, there's a built in level editor that seems usable. It's just a fun FPS game, no looter sh0otEr, no QTE invNCcible, no opENwoRld, no OP sUPeRman poWErS etc. honestly just amazing.
Con's:
- Ultrahard should be the normal difficulty, normal difficulty should be easy / story mode its just too easy. They need a proper hardmode, you can also continue what seems indefinately which is a good mechanic but maybe hardmode should disable that.
- Likely won't make any money as it's not console or derp orientated.
- Some of the weapon balance is a little off, alt-fire shotgun is useless, shredder is totally useless, the chaos gun seems to make everything before it obsolete.
- Levels maybe too claustraphobic, let me strafe jump plz.

yeah the difficulty is kind of pathetic, down to the monster design i think. the monsters are just too slow and get stuck on geometry, there is not nearly enough projectiles flying around etc
agreed with the shotgun alt-fire, it's just garbage all around.. no idea how it is supposed to fit into the game
haven't picked up the early-access version yet.. not sure if i should, as i will no doubt just marathon it
