Just did my first real mission on earth in hard mode, including 3 optional bonus objectives.
The game really opened up, everything prior to this was just the tutorial.

Lots of loot, new enemies and it keeps you at the edge of your seat while you are low on health. (On hard mode you fail if you die 3 times).

I'm really enjoying this now. No regrets! Smile

Edit: Frames dropped to a solid 95, no hickups.
Graphics are also good, IMO, even without raytracing. With the art direction I guess you either hate or love it. I think it looks great.

Heh, 8.4gb allocation, not usage, on max

Godfall 4k epic settings(maxed out)
6gb-8gb allocation, and only 5.5gb-6.5gb actual usage.

The RTX 3080 shows up to 9.2GB or so allocated, and dedicated is about 1GB less.

Also posted some 4K pics, looks quite good: https://www.pcmrace.com/2020/11/12/nuestras-imagenes-y-videos-de-gameplay-de-godfall-en-4k-con-detalles-al-maximo/

The armors look like some generic korean mmo (design-wise, the assets themselves are high quality obviously). The corridor-like linear pathing is also very off-putting, unless the game opens up after a while, I admittedly watched the gameplay very briefly.

Well. I tried it for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Its not HORRIBLE. But, it's not great. In the end I decided it wasn't worth the $65.00 US I paid for it and refunded it. There's other looter games That do it better I think.
I believe I would just return to Warframe rather than play this.
The controls really got on my nerves with the lock on mechanic. I really just wanted to point my character in a direction and have him attack. He always attacked straight ahead unless he was "locked on". For instances, if an enemy was behind me, I couldn't simply pull back on my stick and have him face that way and attack. Hope that makes sense.
I guess something more on the lines of Dynasty Warriors control maybe?
Just didn't feel good to me.
I may have kept it if it was more like a $35 game.
Just my opinion.

There is a bypass now +online play on Rin if anyone wants to try the game.
I've found it really bland outside of the visuals personally.

Can get these visuals in other games, just set saturation and contrast to +50-100 on your monitor.

Isn't there a toggle for locking in the menu's?
On PC there are no such issues, it attacks any direction I want to attack without any locking.
But since you refunded, I guess there is no point in any further discussion. Wink

Personally I'm lv35 and reached endgame. Did the first end game mission (lv30) and the next is lv33.

All valors unlocked now. I guess I'll do some more grinding, spec out my favorite valor and see how long it takes until I burn out. For 36 € it was well worth it, I got my playtime out of it. But I can see a definite end coming closer, whereby with a "looter-slasher" like Diablo I was able to get about a thousand of hours out of it.

Quite possibly. I figured the game would work that way unless I clicked the lock on button. If that option is there in the menu, that would have made it better for me.
I guess I wasn't really interested enough to look? Game just didn't do it for me.
I wanted it to. I love looter games.
Just my own personal preferences I guess. Holding out hope that Cyberpunk manages to "grip" me. It's been a while since a game has.

So, the workaround from our favorite Russian piracy site works. Thanks @tet666 for posting the info about that!

My brief impressions from the game so far are rather positive. I mean, I'm not expecting something that will last me too long, but for now the combat feels fluid, and it hits a bit of that Diablo-ish/Borderlands itch. Plus, it has some of that "AAA feel" that you don't often find in indie games (e.g., Mortal Shells).

I think one major point here is that when judging the game, I completely ignore how much it *should* cost.

Similar to Borderlands as far as the execution/style is concerned. Except there's less "unique" effects until you reach higher levels, apparently.

One thing that's a big + for me is the combat. I haven't played God of War, and only played very few fighting games of that sort, so it's a bit of a fresh experience. It's very different from, say, Dark Souls.

Took a punt on this with pretty low expectations and pleasantly surprised so far. I don't think the videos do the combat mechanics justice, it seems a lot more spammy than it really is from everything I'd seen going into it.

The story is pretty abysmal, but not like you go into this sort of thing for the quality writing...

It's only linear during the tutorial. The actual missions are on 3 large maps that can be freely explored.

all other DXR games work out of the box on Big Navi, even Minecraft RTX

But they lock shit down so one of the few games that runs better on AMD doesn't end up looking bad compared to Nvidia when RT is running

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

It's a decent game for what it is... then again, I'm playing it for free and not judging it based on any price tag or anything. I mean, the combat itself is great and in combination with the looting mechanics is unlike almost anything I've seen on PC.

The biggest issue I find is the lack of actual high-quality content... both the story itself and its presentation (barebones cutscenes etc.) reek of being cut short or being work-in-progress. But the gameplay is, at least for me, fun... more fun than Borderlands 3 for instance (which on the other hand had much better presentation quality etc.).

Ok, just finished this... and I'm so torn and sad about this game.

The gameplay is incredibly good for what it is - it's reasonably challenging on the hardest difficulty and there's this dark souls "experience" of having to learn each boss encounter (even though the combat is nothing like DS). The loot is also satisfactory.

But in terms of execution and gameplay loop, it fails so hard :\ For instance, story elements are introduced and then conveniently completely ignored later, and all cutscenes and dialogue basically feels like an alpha version that got leaked 1 year before release. Also, the mission pacing (goals, tasks) is incredibly stale and repetitive - if you've seen the 2nd mission, you've basically seen them all.

So I'm happy to have finished the main story (don't intend to touch the endgame content right now), but feel that this is such a wasted opportunity. If someone half-decent were to just make a reasonable story, world and content around the gameplay, it could have been a stellar game.
