Not that cold at around -1, but we went from +8ish on Sunday and no snow whatsoever to 20+ cm of snow yesterday. Became winter overnight. Wet, heavy snow covered my entire car. Such fun times and certainly the best time of the year.

No snow but cold and very windy with rain here in the Southwest part of Sweden. My hands are like icicles (I'll have to put them in hot water and dry them very well so I get the circulation going again).
At least it's the time of the year when the cold weather is helping keep the PC cool. Stressing my 6-core CPU show the cores max out at between 55C and 58C with idle at 28C to 32C.
My overclocked 1060 (from stock 1506MHz/boost 1709MHz to 2114-2126Mhz, VRAM OC'd from 8100 to 9360) idles at 33C and max out at 61C when stresstesting. During summer when it can reach 30C here it will add ~20C to the max temps (sometimes more).

I'm beginning to lose interest in OC'ing tbh. It's awesome in its own right, but then there is this game... And this game doesn't work properly when you've overclocked and you have to turn them back to stock, or it'll just crash in the middle of nowhere. Probably more graphic card than CPU overclocking though.

You've got some kind of instability in your system. Could be that your PSU suffers from power jitter making it unstable, VRAM being unstable... or something else. I don't know which card you have though.
Since I'm stuck with a 1060GB (6GB version thankfully) and a non-K Intel i5-8400 (just extra 100Mhz per core through baseclock overclock) I need every drop of performance out of my rig that I can get. I don't get any particularly noticeable performance difference from the CPU outside of CPU benchmarks and RAM benchmarks since the b-clock increase all parts of the CPU including RAM controller (afaik). Overclocking my GPU on the other hand really makes a major difference on the other hand since the CPU doesn't seem to be a bottleneck even with it's relative low frequency (3.9-4.0 GHz on 6 cores is still enough for games and the apps I use).
I can't believe that a second hand 1080 Ti from 2014 still goes for 320€-350€ (or higher) here in Sweden. I'd never buy such an old GPU that was probably overclocked to it's limit for that price.

Most likely the problem. Probably not the CPU as it can be stressed for a while with no issues. The 1070 OC is something else though. I'm just sliding this and that until i notice no weird flickering xD
I'm stuck with my 1070 too. These damn sites might have info about how many units they keep receiving, but how does that help if i cant see my position in the queue?

And snow has finally arrived over here, started with some thunder, lightning and hail but now its snowing rather steadily.
Looks nice, not a fan of trudging through it. :>

I'm not a fan of snow either, it punctually fucks up our already clogged roads and everything/everyone goes into panic_mode. We haven't seen it in a while now, but last winter we did have quite a few powerful typhoons and hailstorms instead..not the best trade-off

It depends on where you live. Living at a coast during cold winters is bad since the wind brings a little water vapor from the sea and it clings to you and help chill you to your bones even when it's above zero degrees. Inland the air is dry and it's less windy. Obviously if you live far up north you'll experience -15 and lower with a lot of snow which is an entirely different matter altogether.
I used to handle cold much better when I was younger. Now I don't like it when it goes below 10c. Right now it's 7c with a 24-hour span between -1 and +8.

It's been cold rain (heavy showers and windy last 2 days) for days in a row now. At least it's making even careless people stay home while the rains also keep washing away virus particles from surfaces and the air. It's when it's cold and dry that the virus survives the longest.

Same here except it's been below zero for over a week now.

It's been a warm winter (like 0-5C here) i've just been using a hoodie up until now where it's been -15, that's not hoodie weather hehe.. my cat doesn't seem to mind temperatures of -10 he only seems annoyed that the ground is covered in snow so he can't find prey etc. when it's like -15 he's only out for a short time.
I much, much prefer 0C than 30c in the summer i have to say, i find that unbearable. At the end of the summer i'm used to it, but it does take more than a month for me to get used to the high temps we've been having in the summer. I rather have -15 too, just have to wear a jacket when outside.

I was just joking, -5 C is a stroll in the park for Scandinavians.
Since the heating is mostly off here, my tolerance is a bit less.

It's not too cold here (-3), but it's been snowing for a couple of days and I think that it's already more than the couple last years combined
