This game sucks so bad that I've just reinstalled Unity so I can just run around Paris. I always found that fun and calming.

One thing I noticed is that Unity looks a lot better than Valhalla. Maybe not technically but aesthetically at least.

Fucking Unity a good game? Laughing

Valhalla has its flaws, surely. I too prefer the more closed setting of a city (+ outskirts) than open world. But Unity doesn't even compare.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

The devs took the wrong direction with the last 3 games.
The older games felt unique with the parcour combined with stealth gameplay and I loved walking around and just exploring the sights in the game.
Valhalla just feels like a failed Witcher 3. The gameplay is so generic that it's almost cynical. Just add the same stuff in an open world map and extend the game for 100+ hours cause that's what people like the devs thought.
Every missions feels the fucking same, just rush in and kill everyone shift clicking with an occasional arrow in the face.

Uninstalled this.

I've no time to waste doing the absolutely SAME things I've done in tons of (AC) games before.

Let simpletons and simplesins to enjoy their streamlined, low challenging, unoriginal, hand-guiding experience.

Agreed. For me last good ass creed game.

Syndicate art direction wasn’t as good.

I've solved that problem in AC games with trainers, teleport where i wanna go, and add some cheats ( skill points , money, resources ) . Make the game more enjoyable by not forcing you to spend so much time with useless shit that you eventually would have done , in A LOT of (wasted) time.

Unity isn't that bad, certainly better than Valhalla I think, but I only played it years after release when they fixed most of the horrible issues at launch.

Bugs still exist but I certainly enjoyed stealth and combat in Unity more than in Valhalla. Combat was actually challenging and felt more grounded.

Parkour in Unity was also amazing and it's a shame that they got rid of it.

Paris was masterfully done and all the details and visual design really helped make it feel like a period piece.

And the animations, all the sweet sexy animations in parkour and combat.

It had the best outfits in the series as well with almost every one of the outfits feeling grounded to the time period unlike Valhalla where you have 300/400 year old hidden ones armor looking like something out of a fairy tale.

The issue with Unity is that Arno is only really interesting during the intro, before it is revealed that he is a simp. The story was pretty much shit. Also the helix store stuff and usual collectibles and dots all over the map.

But for other gameplay systems, I think Unity has a lot of good things going for it.

Yeah I played Unity after Syndicate as well and actually enjoyed it quite a lot. I think a lot of people only remember the terrible state it launched in.

Protagonists though... I think no AC protagonist will equal 'Ezio Auditore da Fierenze' anymore. Their names alone don't have the same sing-song quality, let alone three whole games devoted to them. This viking dude's story basically resolved in the intro, now I'm just running after my brother. Sure there is some conflict, but... eh.

I'm still quite enjoying the game though, but as with Odyssey you kinda have to be in the mood to just chill out a bit, take in the views, the sound design, the world.

Yeah, Black Flag was really good.

I'm still confused why Ubisoft hasn't gone all in on a pirate game (not part of Ass Creed series that is)... They seem to have all the tools for it.

They're trying to make one for a while - it's called SKull&Bones if I recall correctly.

I really liked that the first Ass Creed games had connections, like Ass creed 2 with ass creed 1, even though characters were totally different, it kinda made sense.

Now ? It's

The story went off the rails after AC3 when they started resolving plot points in the comic books Laughing

Coincidentally the way AC Valhalla ends ties into AC3 pretty much directly. The modern day story is very neatly tied up and leaves some fascinating stuff for the upcoming game(s).

I saw the ending on YT, again expecting "that person" to be killed off in a comic book like Juno Laughing

Revelations story was the high point of the series for me (and some parts of AC3). Everything after that has been Sad

While that's true, the female Eivor is the canon choice, which makes sense when you finish the story. Wink

Ugh, killing Desmond off was terrible. Before he died I always thought there would be a present-day Assassin's Creed, with Desmond using all the skills he learned from his ancestors taking down the Templars in... New York city or something. Then that kinda fizzled out and now we are stuck with these weird present-day stories that all feel meh.
