Micks review describes exactly the game I hoped for & one I reckon I will enjoy playing. I'm completely unsurprised by his low rating for melee combat since the same charge was frequently levelled about the witcher series.

As for the women's review posted by Blakx, thank the creamy scunge for that. We had a 10 week lockdown here, so early on I ordered a mob of recent scifi novels. I hadn't read much scifi since early 70's college.

Most of the new highly praised stuff was written by women; even the ones that were written by men were full of how the protagonist felt, rather than what he/she did. Really the only thing the women protagonists 'did' much at all, was to get all tongue 'n groove with another woman. Fair enough if that whats yer into but it does get a bit repetitive.

So if that female reviewer/karen who didn't wanna do what a Night City policeman said (even tho you just know in real life if some bloke tries to come onto her that she's gonna be all 911 "I need to report a hate crime") did not enjoy the game that should tell all normal gamers, men & women alike, that this is gonna be a great game.
Not that I expect any hump regular to say so since posting any such thing is a definite breach of rule #1

If 2060 can play it at 54 fps, I expect 1080ti to run it at 60fps since the card is a bit better.

There were a ton of issues initially and for some time after, fortunately no gamebreaking ones for majority of players - not main story ones, anyway.

https://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/3o3j0m/110_update_bugs_and_problems/

There were still some major outstanding issues in 1.10 - ten patches in after 1.0.

Just 31 more hrs until it releases in Australia. Because the local game files are fully unlocked and we just need the exe, I'm sure someone will share it. And if not, perhaps we can VPN unlock it early on GOG.

It's a simultaneous worldwide release. Everyone unlocks it at the same time.

Half of the Polygon "review" is about what the reviewer felt like as a Trans person. 25% didn't even go past the character creator.

Just fuck off, will you? Gamers don't care about your psychological problems. Fuck. Off.

Games don't exist so you can roleplay your absolutely fringe sexuality. Use your bedroom for that. We don't care.

Games journos... fuck off!

Will definitely buy it as it reminds me a lot of deus ex human revolution gameplay-wise.

CDPR always releases buggy mess that turns into very solid RPG later on (usually with the release of enhanced edition).

The fact that some politically correct gaming outlets lowered the score because the game is "downright offensive to different cultures and backgrounds" only encourages me to do so.

Welp, I just found out that my boyfriend preordered Cyberpunk 2077, even though I'm pretty sure I've discussed CDPR's transphobia throughout several meals that we've had together.

Suffice it to say, I don't think we'll be doing anything sexual for a little while.

Another way of saying that he'll be far too busy enjoying himself playing cyberpunk than go through the motions of having non-offensive missionary with me.

Lol. Although the cop tripping over the prone guy is actually pretty cool. I'm surprised it's that reactive given how janky a lot of the other stuff seems to be.

Definitely going to isodemo this first.

The dildos everywhere is kinda funny, but also pretty juvenile. 16 year olds will find it hilarious, I'm sure, but I fear it'll wear off really quickly.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

The fact that they prohibited reviewers from sharing their own screen captures suggests that they're well aware of the bugs and are actively patching them.

Several reviews have mentioned high-quality writing, but the general consensus here seems to be the game is a shallow, juvenile take on cyberpunk themes without any worthwhile commentary. Maybe the dialogue itself is well-written but the overall plot and story arc isn't?

Not that great writing would be nearly enough to wash away all the hideous bullshit from CDPR... though I'm morbidly curious to play this for myself so I can follow along with the discussions in the coming weeks. This really feels like a flashpoint game in the industry with its intersectionality between the massive AAA hype machine + flirting with the absolute dregs of Gamer culture in a year where we all need escapism more than ever but also bore witness to the biggest civil rights movement in human history. I'm just... fascinated by the depressing spectacle of it all. But I also don't want to support this product, though the cynic in me is very cognizant that my decision on whether or not to purchase Cyberpunk will have a 0.0% impact on CDPR's success and platform.

What a crazy little hunk of junk this release is.
