If you keep the button pressed, you can toggle crouch mode during dialogue.
Interinactive wrote: | When you're running and jumping with springy legs for example - holding down shift doesn't allow you to keep running when you land. You have to hold it while running, jump, land, then let go, and you will keep running.
When in conversations you can't toggle crouch, because some fucking genius decided to bind the 'skip dialogue' button to C as well. So you must use normal crouch. But if you start a conversation with toggle couch on, you can't get out of it without skipping dialogue. So you must jump! But then you couch again automatically... so you must jump, and as you land, jump again immediately to be able to stand.
Random shit like that
Anyway, I find it highly improbable that most people could get to, I dunno, 50hrs and not encounter a lot of these bugs many times over. |

I think the main problem with the game for me is how unprofessional it is.
Like the little things:
Bugs
No sound when crafting or dismantling stuff
You can press space bar during the logo screen and the animation will restart
Raising the shotgun to your hands
Getting of the bike makes you jump a bit
The way you attach your wire to the hackable console.
Menu system looks like someone came up with something quickly and that someone has zero experience in UI creation.
And also the mini game:
at least some variety please?

This is just one mission where you need to chase someone. Analysing it:
- The car in front is completely on rails, notice how quick 90 degree turns are
- 0:12 - time of day suddenly changes
- 0:26 - car disappears so scripted one can pop out
- 0:27 - car that 'disappeared' is still there as indicated by its shadow, plus it pops back in for a moment
- 0:31 - another car disappears for the sake of scripted car
- 1:03 - car disappears
- 1:14 - time of day changes again??
- The payoff? A cutscene
8 years in the making ^^^^
After 66hrs this was the first chase mission I came across in the streets and this is the best they can do. Think back to games like True Crime, GTA3, Mafia and so on. How old are they, and look how much more they achieved in regards to gameplay. Every time I play this game it seems like it's not real. It's fun enough, but once you've seen everything the world has to offer, it all feels hollow.
I don't see how it's much of an RPG either. There's barely any choice in anything, really. Try doing some of the main or side quests different ways, it rarely matters. Most of the time there actually isn't a choice. What you can choose are weapons, clothing and so on, but then the game is so unbalanced because of it, that it seems it should have been reigned in.
The bugs are another obvious issue and most of it is evident. What got me thinking was how everything behind the scenes works if the world is so fucking broken. Are multipliers, stats etc even working correctly?
It's redeeming qualities are the visuals, the game world (the presentation of the city, not the people, AI or anything else), the driving of certain vehicles, shooting mechanics and main quests. Everything else is subpar as fuck, including performance across all platforms.
Every reviewer who gave it a perfect score should be forced to work in some shitty fast food restaurant for the rest of their lives.
Biggest disappointment in gaming history IMO |
Jesus that was hard to watch lol. I love the instant turns the cop car did lmao.
They stopped marketing it as an RPG sometime in the last year, I forget when but they changed it on their twitter and everything. Probably knew they weren't going to get the RPG mechanics up right so decided to try and save face.
What's sad is it's damn near a 1999/2000 game with 2020 gfx. The AI in Cyberpunk is damn near identical to Deux Ex....20 years ago...

Damn i thought Spore was a deception, then came No mans sky and now, KING Cyperpunk, i dont mind the bugs, they break the feeling of being in the game, but the poor gameplay, gunplay, ai, open world sandbox, etc is apalling. At least it has a good story.... so far.

Its like no amount of money or time can produce a competant product anymore, i guess the real talent retired and we're left with people that can't code. A generation with no idea's that only make sequels to boomer gen IP (movie and games) but can't code or write well enough to make any of it half decent.

Indies are the only thing enjoyable. Hollow knight was my last GOOD game that i played...
And game development companies are to blame for their own problems, game developers have it rough, you could be working in something simpler and have a good income and workplace, but in gaming it seems its just hell all around, kind of like working on a bank as a developer (in DR it was hell, noone wanted to work with them) I can imagine they have lost a lot of talent and crushed upcoming talent.

The only CDPR game I played on release was TW2 and I loved it, despite what people said at the time. The other TW games, I played them later when they were mostly fixed. I‘ll do the same with this one. I‘m sure I‘ll enjoy it.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Going public was a mistake for them, they should have stayed private. Smaller budgets but they would have much more control and not have to worry about shareholders.
Going public is also when GOG became shit and stopped allowing niche games onto the platform.

They wont skip proper QA next time, if only others could learn from mistakes llike these. Also where is the Reddit army with Chris Roberts and Co? At least this is a functional game.

They really fucked it up and the whole fucking game deserves to get fixed not left in the state that's right now |
It has the potential to be a superb game with fixes and changes. Let's hope they are committed.
Also I hope modders are able to make changes to gameplay systems. I want a proper difficulty mod that stops you becoming a god mid way through the game.

Yeah, pretty much, and not really that surprising. They started off aspiring to be like Bioware after all. Seems they did a pretty good job. Anthem wasn't really an anomaly, it just publicly revealed what has been going on at Bioware for the last 10-15 years (at least). Cyberpunk's development too wasn't really that different from what happened with TW3's (and I suspect TW2's as well, although I'm not entirely sure), it just became much more public.

Despite all the bugs and underdevelopments I have fun with the game but I had zero hype for it. And it's a second Reds game I played, W1 being the first one.
When it's solid it's solid but it isn't the second coming of gaming Jesus. If all the bugs would be fixed or at least most it might be a 7.5 maybe 8 out of 10 game.
