They deserve it, Mankind Divided was good and instead of continue and make a better sequel they went to some generic super hero, lets hope they learned from this.

Mankind Divided was the reason they shifted focus to this game because nobody bought it. Theres nothing complicated here. The game wildly underperformed so they moved away from the series.

It's like they haven't learned anything. I'm not sure of it's a japanese thing. But MD tanked because of its shitty marketing and attempts to nickel and dime people. It was a great game imo but people didn't like the way it asked for money and how.
People do want another deus ex, just not a MTX ridden 50 separate editions at different prices deus ex.

How much did it sell on all platforms?
I got mine on PS4 for about 25 bucks.
And they could move on to something original and not that crap.

Did it really tank that bad? I bought it!
Do you have figures or extra knowledge? Would explain why they're not actively pursuing a sequel
Maybe CP2077 will help creating demand? |

Remember how they were talking about a Deus Ex Universe prior to that game coming out ? It must've sold so bad that they scraped everything and no new game is in production. The game ended up on sale for a few bucks in a very short amount of time | Wildly under performed in what terms? Let's not forget who we're talking about here:

I'm glad this games as a service shit bombed, fuck 'em

The reason they expect so many sales is because they invest an extreme amount of money in the games. Shadow of the Tomb Raider costed, we dont have an absolutely exact figure, but it could cost up to 135 million dollars, accounting for production and marketing. Similarly huge figures can be expected for everything else. Of course 2 or 3 million arent enough if you invest this kind of money.
Look at Avengers, close to 200 million dollars. There are Transformers movies that didnt have that kind of budget. Its insane.
Mankind Divided came out after 5 years. They had plans for some sort of universe with it. I imagine they put more than 100 million. The game was selling for 5 dollars in less than a year i think. I dont know exactly if it was exactly a year, but it was not long after launch, thats for sure

Holy shitballs. 135 mil for TR? At least that was a good game (in its genre, which I don't particularly fancy, but OK).
And Avengers 200 mill. Avengers is soulless by default, and then add stupid marketing department-led development.
Damn it, they need to get back on Deus Ex. That has a market, so long the game is good.
The market for good games is huge. But it has to be good.

I wonder how many people on this forum for example bought HR and MD for full price, I doubt many have. Deus Ex has always been somewhat niche. The same with Sleeping Dogs, great game but probably too much like GTA for many people.
No profit, no sequel. Easy.

I remember getting Deus Ex Human Revolution from proekaan here, it was a little before release I think?
But I bought Mankind Divided Day1 on Steam. I still don't know why they decided that the franchise is "dead".

I pirated HR and only bought the director's cut later on sale. Ironically I bought MD at launch, and still to this day have never done more than a single playthrough that I abandoned about the 5-6 hour mark.

It's Square Enix moved by greed who decided that it's "dead", I bet Eidos Montreal wanted to go on after delivering 2 fantastic games (minus the micro-transaction fiasco in MD, probably foced by Square Enix as well), among the very few ones I'm willing to replay.

because SE pushed them hard to monetize the game with microtransactions and they probably don't want to repeat it all over again
I remember something about the microtransactions being forcefully pushed in after the game was already made, and that breach shit..

Some more stuff was also cut from MD to be later sold as DLC but Breach failure and more shit regarding one-time-use DLC made them cancel everything.

Don't forget they also outsourced the boss fights in HR too. Those boss fights were hot garbage. They fixed it much later but your points and skills selection didn't even matter.

Mankind Divided was the last thing I preordered, and it served as a lesson for me. The game itself definitely delivered - despite the typical compromises for the couchpeople and accessible difficulty curve that required self-gimping - but the despicable corporate practices surrounding it, the truncated abrupt "final" act and the decision to never resolve/expand the plot elements through a very much needed (and already planned) third chapter were a kick to the non-augmented balls. What a shame

Aaaight, seeing that Cyberpunk won't be enjoyable for a few months to come, I'll come back to this to scratch my immersive sim itch. Picked it up on the last sale from Uncle Mehmet for 1 euro with some change. Last time around I had too shitty of a PC to play it but now it's silky smooth. I'll probably finish it in time for some patches for CP2077 to arrive so I'll make a direct comparison having everything fresh in memory.

in 4k looks absolutely stunning, textures, level design, amount of details are insane, finished mankind, now playing human revolution.

I'll have to give this one another go. Was any of the DLC worth playing in the end?

OR, if you find a workaround for that post it here.
