Ok, that gives me at least some kind of hope.

For me it currently crashes at startup, after having been able to play about 1,5h beforehand. Thinking about deleting the save-game and config and retry with the latest patch.

that said, he had crashes whenever mirrors were activated but fixed it by changing some settings I think. not sure if it's because of win7 or other reasons.

thanx! if i get it to start at all again, i ll try to look into graphic settings Very Happy

"In case if anyone still wonders : Cyberpunk 2077 DOES work with Windows 7.

I had to upgrade my NV drivers to 360.79. I installed the last C++ 2015-2019 version. I upgraded .NET to 4.72.
If you experienced crashes trying to launch the game, or during the first seconds when V looks into the mirror (StreetKid),
DELETE the GamePipelineLibrary.cache file in ... Application Data / CD Projekt RED / Cyberpunk 2077 / cache. (or delete simply the CD Projekt RED folder here)
And only THEN, try again.
I think this did the trick for me. (thanks to Dumass who confirmed having a working Win7 setup, that's why I didn't give up after days of trying)

I just arrived in V's apartment now but it didn't crash anymore. My rig isn't that powerful (i7 2700K + Geforce 1070Ti), but I set the graphics on high."

Witcher 3 quest design was just better. Much more side quests too

Most of the gigs feel like they might as well be procedurally generated.

The few good side quests are pretty nice though .

What depth? Go from point A to point B or kill the enemies in the area? The level design is the only good part and it's wasted on cheap filler quests.

Same, having a blast. The game runs smoothly at 50 to 60 FPS capped with free sync. Real bugs are extremely rare. Random NPC's weirdness I hardly notice anymore. Playing now James Bond style with a silenced pistol, sneaking around one-shotting everyone. Great fun Smile

No issues, crashes or any game breaking bugs for me either. A fuck ton of bugs I’ll agree but nothing that has stopped me enjoying the game, a lot..

Granted I’m able to run all settings on highest at 3440x1440 on a 3080 & 3600XT locked at 60fps. Using DLSS is the saving grace though..

DLSS on balanced, RTX off, most settings ultra, some like fog on medium.

uncapped in the market I get 80-90 FPS.

Same spot, all low, around 100FPS, all highest, 50FPS.

Same settings I was running more or less (on 1440p). I was getting 80-100 in most places.

I'm on high end specs though, i7-10700k (on 5.1ghz) and a 3080.

My friend with a 1080ti and 8700k is getting around 40fps at high preset at 1440p.

It's basically more or less the same quest structure and variety as in Witcher 3. There are some good stories in both games but the gameplay in them is all the same - Go to A, use Witcher-Sense™, Follow-Red-Shining-Shit™ to get to B Talk-to/Kill Something/Someone, Go back to A. That was still everything you do in 99% of the time in W3.

But in Cyberpunk 2077 it's slightly better because of the different ways to play (yes, it would've been out of character for Gerald to to sneak attack monsters but as far as I remember in the books he has been doing it against some people) and overall the more diverse game. Here you have a gig to take out a car from the middle of a minefield, shooting contests (in W3 there was only one to throw some knives, here I played 2 so far, one in a shooting range and another shooting some targets while drunk), hacking etc.

So far I am much more pleased with Cyberpunk 2077's quests than in Witcher 3 which I highly disliked.

You just described every game right there. I meant tidbits, background, how you can approach things etc. Gameplay is as stale as any game after 10+ hours.

The only well crafted quest is the first one with Maelstrom, getting that robot

With the different approaches, choices and outcomes.

If all the game would be in similar fashion, yea, 10/10

But of course the streak lasts for that one quest only

Yes, I described every filler quest in every game or the entirety of Death Stranding. Laughing The problem is that most missions in this game are as linear as the gigs. The gameplay provides more options than in The Witcher 3, but it's coming more from the setting rather than execution. And they don't take advantage of this opportunity at all to craft something cool or unique. The mission design and the writing provide little to no choices. Instead, they just opted for quantity and the gameplay is far from amazing to make this work.

It's just lazy content most of the time. They put the work to craft a beautiful and intricate world, but they didn't bother to fill it with interesting content. Just look at the pointless factions who serve no other purpose than hostile fauna.

This game made me appreciate Mankind Divided more.

I'm very much enjoying it, it's not the complete trash as I initially said it was Very Happy

But it's definitely not my GOTY either. It fails as an open world game, and it's not a very good RPG either. I've now also entered the 'overpowered' part of the game, which makes it more of an FPS than an RPG, which is probably why gunplay is (more) fun than at the start.

I don't consider it a nextgen game either. Without RTX it looks very bland (compared to, say AC: Valhalla or Watch Dogs).

Overall, it's a very decent game, but also extremely disappointing that this is the result after all the hype they created prior release.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
