Take it easy. I'm impressed they managed to release it as is, considering their previous record. Plus, this year was hard on anyone, most people didn't have real vacation (I personally didn't have one day off, and feeling tired as shit), you can't just plan update cycle in days precision with all the burnout and COVID in place.

A friend of mine finished it at launch. I asked him if it wasn't buggy (he's got a really shitty computer as well) he said it wasn't and that it was fun but perhaps a bit short.

Well your friend is dead wrong. There would be 60 hours alone in just loading screens. I would recommend not taking any gaming advice from this friend in future.

when did i say asked him for advice? I just was curious if it was buggy when he told me he had finished it. It's just one persons experience with the game, you'll always find a few people who plays early on and don't run into serious bugs since RPG's can be played in a thousand ways. Most reviews posted early on were positive (1500 positive, 500 negative if you check steam for august 28) so he was hardly alone in liking the game.

Yeah i saw the 10/10 perfect reviews as well, i also purchased, installed and played maybe 15-20 hours of the game before putting it to rest.
I guess financially you have to ship something in any state to start bringing in the $$$'s and pay your dev team fortheir initial work + the next couple of years to get the game in a half decent state. It's fact gamers will buy any shit in any state providing it has a IP name or review scrores and utubers give it a half decent review.
I guess i just need to adjust my expectation in 2020, games deserve a perfect score if they barely run, load areas for 5 mins, look worse than 2008 titles, crash frequently, hit 1fps whenever items names are displayed in game with any hardware configuration, gradually reach 10-20% of initial fps after a few hours, have sections that are clearly unfinished (like dialog and encounters being sparsely completed throughout the game for pivitol characters).
I give Fargo a lot of leeway because in general I've liked all the games he's produced over the years, he will probably also support & definitive edition this title into a great game. Still I can't pretend this game is anywhere near the quality of typical game release, it's worse than a lot of early access launches and doesn't deserve any score over a 5-6/10 given the state it was released in.

I didn't really care for wasteland 2, mostly i was annoyed of how terrible it calculated the aim, i ran into to too many anomalies with that that eventually i just didn't care to continue. Other than this issue i thought it was ok.

A lot of it is rebalance. Wasteland 3 wasn't too bad at release, the most infuriating issue was the loading times.
I've not actually played it since the initial release and very early patch, I gather load times are a lot better now though.

Having finished the game when it launched it was a complete clusterfuck. Buggiest game i played (including Cyberpunk). Missing textures, disappearing enemies, really buggy quest (had to do one 5 times before it worked). That being said, brilliant game. |
I never had broken quests, I did get quite a lot of crashes and persistent slowdown (that got worse the long you played) though (seems to be a Unity speciality).

Well they said that patch 1.3 is coming shortly after so I'll start playing the game once they release that. Wasteland 2 was fucking awesome, I hope this one's similar.

Giving this a replay. Loading times are massively improved since release.
Also combats seem to last a bit longer with the reduction in crit chance. At release combats were generally over very quickly as everyone was critting each other constantly for a billion damage.
