Bottom line under all the bugs, there is a pretty damn fantastic game. Good thing im good at ignoring what I consider relatively small stuff. Well, the PS4 game is not worth the money at all because of the low FPS during gun fights and driving and that it looks like a turd doesnt make things better Got the sign contract ending because I rushed it under 20 hours because I was sure I would get some gamebreaking shit like corrupted save or something, but well, I didnt
I don't think so. Remove the cutscenes/dialogs, and there's really not much left. Shooting mechanics are fun, yes, but only because the game is unbalanced and you're OP as fuck. But what else is there, apart from shooting shit?
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
So weird seeing someone create artwork with Reshade, no idea how one even has patience for this and all the quirks that come with it but very well done!

The RPG elements are pretty decent. A bit simple for some people maybe, but there are different ways to do lots of missions. Similar to Deus Ex and Prey. I like how the perk/skill tree works.
if u ever wondered how those awesome Game shots are made..
Spoiler:
https://youtu.be/ri6RXAFfTec
That's really cool! Can Reshade do this with all games or is it the way it interacts with this game specifically that allows that? First time I've seen something like that.
NZXTS340ELITE : EVGA Z370 FTW / [ Intel i7 8086k @4.0Ghz ][ ASUS TUF RTX 3060 Ti 8GB ][ 16GB G.Skill Trident Z @3200mhz CL16 ][ 128GB Intel760p Series + 1TB Crucial MX500 + 3TB WD RED ][ Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 650W ]
works with all games where u have depth buffer access..
u can use a sort of green screen shader to cut out 3d objects so to say, save them and then overlay them, etc.. like in the videos..
great stuff, shader development for reshade is really strong going at the moment..
if you are interested it would be best to join teh Discord. lot of stuff isnt easy to find without it^^
Unpopular opinion apparently, this game is awesome Wanted to hold out until the patches, but got bored so decided to give it a shot. This game's got me hook line and sinker.
I love the narrative aspect, the missions are awesome and I'm really invested in the story. Even the side jobs and gigs have something to them, some sort of backstory to them.
And I like the way they develop. The Delamain cab fetchquest develops into a rescue mission. I also like how exploration off the beaten path rewards you with nuggets of worldbuilding. For how much content was supposedly cut, there still is a shitload of it to enjoy.
Also unpopular opinion - I think Keanu is doing great at playing Johny. He's a complete asshole, and does that really well, a bit flat at moments but overall I'm happy. I think he does a better job overall than the male V actor who has a really inconsistent tone most of the time.
I think the major issue is that the game fails on satisfying peoples mislead expectations, rather than being bad period.
The technical aspect is poor indeed but servicable. Performance, AI and physics are all trash, but not to the point where it's super immersion breaking.
I've replayed Deus Ex mankind divided just a few weeks prior and I have to say that CP2077 is exactly that - an immersive sim / RPG hybrid in a typical Ubi-esque open world. The RPG elements are here rather to fuel different aspects of approach to missions ( direct approach, stealth, technical, hacking).
It does fail as a sandbox but I've never had interest in that aspect so I don't miss it. As a matter of fact, that was what turned me away from RDR2 - the abundance of mundane tasks. Some people like to get immersed like that, I was put away. I do understand why people like it though.
I think this puts it best: "Why did they want us to develop an open world game like GTA5 with only a fraction of the manpower."(quoted from memory). The city is fantastic. And there is a ton of stuff there to explore, but they simply did not have enough time to implement and refine the gameplay mechanics. This is an early access title with the bare minimum of features to complete the game on a happy path.
I won't get my hopes up for CDPR adding stuff like driving AI, customization, etc.. In his latest twitter post Badowski implies they are happy with the final product feature-wise, and the game got 9/10s and 10/10s. They'll focus on bug fixing. Iwinski said the same thing. According to those two, the launch was not a failure.
it's quite clear that they'll only address the most obvious of wackiness and at the very best have a functioning police system that isn't 2 lines of code. (if player shoot NPC spawn police behind player)
As far as the story goes they seem pretty happy with it being a far cry game. Thank god I discovered wasteland 3 and have wasteland 2 to look forward to playing for a real RPG fix.
What we learned is that if a game sounds too good, even from a renowned dev it's probably a lie. For a game to be a great at a genre, it must inevitably compromise in some areas, great RPG's often don't have the best graphics for example. This one wanted to be a GTA, far cry, the witcher, LA noire, deus ex etc all at once I'm pretty sure the CEO does cocaine now.
For example towards the end with the flying children - that's honouring the Animatrix episode called "Beyond" where some kids find glitched house with "malfunctioning" gravity.
Or that guy with double glasses, again at the end of the video, it's a throwback to the famous "Horatio meme". Everything is an intentional feature by CDPR.
Even the inconsistent police behaviour. It's always mentioned during the story how the NCPD doesn't care about crimes.

I found Adam's post absolutely insulting. It's like someone said in the comments there: they are treating the game as if it's a buggy masterpiece. At least the devs from Hello Games had the decency to shut up quickly after the release of NMS.

i hink you shouldve probably learned this 2 decades ago
I did, I never get excited for games anymore. Hell I haven't the slightest idea why people pre order a digital product. CDPR's rep and previous games tho have helped strengthen people's confidence in this product and one can't blame them for expecting to get exactly what was advertised.

werent like 3 of their 4 games before CP absolute mess at launch ?
not sure where the confidence came it
its like people stopped taking PR bullshit with grains of salt like they uisualy do with Ubisoft , beth and such
How many feature/events publicized on the big e3 demo or even on the night city wire videos are missing from the final game? Stuff missing from the e3 trailer I understand not being added, but the ncw videos were close to the release and for those they better add it to the game
Also hope they waste time and money on that stupid multiplayer shit and it blows up in their face

The developers are scum and they did the same for Witcher 3 where they used the abandoned engine (which looked a little better, better lighting/rendering) up until release for releasing screenshots.
Also their bs excuses were fucking terrible, i realized back then that they're just the usual dev crooks. Buy games, but support small companies and indie titles instead of these crooks.
The reality is now, today, is that no one is ever gonna be happy with anything from now on, nothing. Too many 'self entitled' fuckwits that will never be pleased with anything, regardless if they got it for free or not, and let's face it, most did in here Kinda like the spoilt brat on Xmas day, that sneers as he opens his presents, then moves on to the next one, to see if he can find anything better. Yeah, it's not the game I'm afraid, it's the times we live in now.

Looking back at the trailers makes you realise what a crock of horseshit this whole thing was, bugs are one thing but blatant lies are another and CDPR excel at both.
The thing i find most hilarious is that they are still lying, this lie that somehow their internal testing did not reveal the extent as to how bad the console version was is ridiculous. They obviously knew exactly how bad it was and chose to hide it in their persuit of maximising launch revenue, now that is something even the likes of EA and Activision would be proud of.
This myth that CDPR are some super pro consumer company among a sea of thieves has been put to bed, they became too big for their own good and if anything this whole fiasco has proven that they are no better than the rest of them.
