I'm playing MD right now and it's quite the step up from CP, period. The skills have a tangible impact on the gameplay. The gameplay mechanics are more refined and balanced. You are incentivize you to try different approaches because the content doesn't get trivialized. The level design just runs deeper and works in sync with the AI. And the AI, while not fantastic, doesn't make me feel too often that I'm exploring an artificial world.
CP2077 laid out a shallow foundation for many things, but didn't bother to further explore or polish any of them. The game is more focused on creating an illusion of complexity rather than delivering it.
I played Mankind Divided just a few weeks ago and Cyberpunk is a worthy successor, with a much better world and story around it. It doesn't do anything more than that game, but it does it really well.
This is all kinds of wrong. Mankind Divided is a more mature game with a better level design, a better skill system, better stealth mechanics and a better AI. CP2077 is by no means its successor, it's a clusterfuck of genres that doesn't do well by any of them.
Just because you have multiple options, doesn't mean they amount to much in terms of gameplay. By this logic, Invisible War is a masterpiece.
It does seem like CP2077 suffers from serious feature creep that made it unmanageable in the end. I do hope it can still be rescued to be what it was originally supposed to be.
The most disappointing aspect of this whole story are not the game's problems, which are serious and imo unfixable, but the fact that people are defending this as being a great game.
The shallowness, artificiality and lack of individuality / character of the world is the most jarring aspect of the CP2077 world.
How can one say that this game is immersive?! With flawed mouse control, lack of walk toggle, the SERIOUS lack of world interaction and a general disconnect from everything - from characters to world - this is so damn average.
Well, live and let live. If some people thoroughly enjoy it, good for them. But yeah, it's unnecessary to repeatedly post defensive (with some indirect/direct insults) posts over and over again.
@blackeyedboy He took things personally when he reported my other post which was a simple joke. I disagree with Nodrim's hate train just as much but it seems to Sin I am his biggest foe.
Hey hey! I'm no hater! I gave CP2077 best graphics and audio of 2020 after all. It was just a deeply disappointing/underwhelming experience full of glaring problems and it still draws in a horde of apologetics. Every time I click on this topic, I see people defending something that's not really defendable and that triggers me a bit. I thought by now people will see the difference between enjoyment and quality, but apparently I'm just too naïve thinking that will happen.
@blackeyedboy I think you haven't witnessed his final form of petty childish responses yet, however I did
@Nodrim We can agree on underwhelming and that it promised many things that are not even part of the game, that's certain. However not everyone here wants to "defend" the game only because they like quite many parts of it, so questioning their sanity because you disagree just adds more to the issue imo. You can love and hate things at the same time after all.
Other than that, you've praised the game? lol you're such a fake!

Sorry but this is such a stupid statement. Like you have always like the best games ever. I am sure there are at least 3 games in your top 20 favorite games that have many bugs and issues but you still loved playing them and have recommended others to try them and defended them despite the issues.
@PredOborG Same reason people overrate old games massively still.
@Sin317 Do you have a genuine problem or are you simply waiting for some Mod to react? Whatever dude, just stop spamming the thread if you have nothing to add...

I mostly did surgical strikes, but you know how it is, there's always some collateral damage.
I was never really that hyped for Cp2077. I bought the CE mostly because I liked the content of it. But I always hoped this would be a good game and everything was pointing in this direction. It didn't turn out to be that, though, there are some aspects of it that I thoroughly enjoyed. But I guess what scares/bothers me the most from this whole ordeal is our attitude as a whole.
Gamers would review bomb for less to show their dissatisfaction. And here we are looking at the biggest false advertisement in gaming history that sits at a 78% on Steam. That bullshit PR video from CDPR's co-founder has like 200k likes with a fraction of it being dislikes, even after we got inside information pointing at the lies. If we can tolerate so much crap, then the future will be even worse than we thought.

I can separate the good from the bad because I'm not a hater.
@Nodrim But while we do our fair share of being wary of shady practices and empty promises you can't expect us to carry this over to the whole of gaming, we're less than a droplet in a big ocean, even though we do try a lot that it doesn't become the standard by voting with our wallets (even if it goes wrong), that is for sure.
I mean I paid way above average price for Just Cause 3 purely because of Avalanche's reputation and it ended up being a massive shitshow that made me really mad afterwards and it ended up in the bargain bin shortly after as well so that you know that I know exactly how you feel with this.
We did not tolerate this, in fact many here argued how it was even possible for this to be so vastly different from what was promised. I get there's a lot of frustration sitting in there still, just as much as it disappointed me that there was little "choice" in this "RPG" in the end, yet you can't expect others to feel the same, some people naturally give games a more lenient approach, just as I do with Ubi-Games, but even Legion used up the formula too hard for me and left me with a bitter taste afterwards (not only after losing my save due to their whacky system). Some fun was had but went shallow real quick.
But in the end it's not up to you how people feel or what to think, you can only encourage them, but as always, it depends strongly on how it's presented and constant pushing of the same line of thought with slight anger will always end up with people feeling attacked for when they essentially just wanted to share some positive thoughts for once.
Hope you get where I'm coming from but if not fair enough still glad if you've given it at least a read

but maybe they are right?, I can't be bother pointing out the best games of each genre but even metacritic's derp top 50 are mostly all 15-25 year old games ?? why is that?
@harry_theone I challenge ideas, but I definitely don't want people to feel attacked and I can see how that can happen. So I'll tune it down a notch, but not with Sin317.

Hard disagree. Immersion can take many forms that aren't all resting on "Can have sex with this Person in their home. . ." I thought the game nailed immersion as it relates to your character with the emotional investment.
A second class-action lawsuit has been filed against Cyberpunk 2077 developer and publisher, CD Projekt, submitted by a law firm representing the studio’s investors.
But it's fine for the same couple guys to post the same "attacks" over and over again? It's always the same shit over and over and over and over...
Attacks on you? Or do you just get "salty" whenever someone criticize CDPR/CP2077?
If it's the first: report it.
If it's the second: why are you taking it personal? why would it affect you in any way? stop reading/following the thread if it annoys you instead of spamming your bitterness... please.
Its Sin, you probably dont have to ask. Anyway, has the game become any better since its release? Got my 3090 now so can play it whenever, but not as it was at release, thats for sure.

I don't give 2 shits about CDPR or the opinion people have about this or any other game, but it's always the same handful of cunts who keep spamming every single thread with the same whining and complaining over and over again. Say your piece and be done with it, but don't come back every day and keep on complaining about the same thing over and over again.
I said this (too much complaining of the same isue by the same persons) in another thread and got heavily attacked. If you see specific usernames just scroll down and ignore their post.
Why do people keep comming to this thread only to complain. It's 7 weeks since release. All arguments in favour and against this game are thoroughly discussed. Just forget about the game if you don't like it.
I guess close this thread then unless for news, since all's been said ?
I only see a very valid discussion and everyone being quite understanding of the other in these last few pages, leading to a rather interesting conversation. Apparently, that's too much to handle of a debate though I'd suggest not using forums altogether, really. There's Reddit or similar if you only want one single taste of the daily circlejerk at a time.. I really don't get it, sorry.
