Quote for the new page They could've do it much better but hey, still better than nothing
"remastered in 4K", ok so they upped the resolution and included the DLC's. big whooping deal.
it's getting as terrible as for some movies when they get a lazy 4K treatment. for games its even lazier, basically just allow a higher resolution in the list, done. awesome.
edit:
"Visual Enhancements for the First Mass Effect Game: The game's been given a full world-building pass including environmental art, VFX and level relighting."
" a full world-building pass" lol, sounds fancy. in real life that is most likely a week's work for a small team. because it says its just environmental art, so not e.g characters (that takes time).
ok so the first game is a (lazy) remaster, the other ones are really not. i bet you can already play them in 4K on PC, if its not selectable in the game there's probably some mod/patch that makes that res available.
Well, the derpsoleros must be jizzing their pants since this seems to be mostly for them. From the little that was seen on that trailer it really doesn't look that much removed from a well modded PC version.
But, having the full package ready to go without wasting time setting up mods and shiet will also be a plus on PC... maybe.
Differences across the whole trilogy include remastered character models, an expanded universal character creator and the option to use ME3's default female Shepard model throughout.
Bimbo Shepard is back baby Why doesn't bimbo ashley get the same treatment, though?

I have my suspicions that they'll derpify it in some unexpected ways.

Judging from the articles it's definitely going to receive some couch-approved changes like more direct shooting + cover system with built-in aim assist (a must), steadier/faster Mako, no class-based weapon restrictions and other "balancing" tweaks. There is also some potentially interesting stuff like better AI, a new HUD and improved boss battles but yeah, we know how these things usually turn like, sadly :')

The remastered trilogy of Mass Effect Legendary Edition contains almost all of BioWare's sci-fi RPG epic, with two notable exceptions: ME3's multiplayer, and ME1's Pinnacle Station DLC. While the absence of multiplayer is a glaring absence (I'll honestly miss it), when BioWare announced the release date yesterday I'd initially not noticed Pinnacle wasn't in the big long list of included DLC. Turns out, the source code was corrupted, and rebuilding it from scratch would've taken ages.

Made by Demiurge Studios, the DLC didn't wasn't even in all versions of the original game. The source was corrupted, so it never came to PS3. In the latest round of press interviews, BioWare said they reached out to Demiurge to try again for the Legendary Edition, and their hopes were raised, but the backup they received was corrupted and broken. They'd need to rebuild it. Whole process was "an emotional roller coaster," game director Mac Walters said.
"It would basically take us another full six months just to do this with most of the team we've got," Walters told Game Informer. "I wish we could do it. Honestly, just because this is meant to be everything that the team ever created, brought together again - all the single-player content. And so, leaving it all on the cutting-room floor, it was heartbreaking."
So... they could not be bothered to work another 6 months to offer at least all the SP DLC's.
‘I do think a lot of things have evolved since [the original games] but I don’t know if I would say we were ultra-concerned about it or anything like that, but there were considerations’, admits Walters. ‘Kevin actually called out some camera cuts that were just… why was that focusing on Miranda’s butt? So in some cases we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change there’.

Not aimed at you but the idea itself is dumb. Not good. Why spend 6 months to redo a DLC or even the entire series when they could have spent that to polish Andromeda or even better, spend their resources making their next game better ?!
Regarding the Pinnacle Station DLC, if I remember right it held the title 'worst dlc ever' given to it by the community for quite some time. When it was released, it was an afterthought, and it was obvious they didn't put as much effort in developing it as they did for the battarian one. I think it finally lost the title when Bioware released the alternate skin packs dlc for ME2. It was the one that gave some characters ugly sun glasses.
What to do when you lack ideas ? Create sweetfx profiles.. erm.. I mean.. remake games. 0 to 0.1% gameplay changes. Gotta love remakes. Why make new games when you can grab some quick cash.

Well, for derpsoles this remake kinda makes sense so... njeh

Such a limited view on the subject. Please correct. _ >
Lots of old(er) games are not optimized for newer hardware. And personally, lately, most of the times I choose to return to some old games that I'll enjoy replaying MUCH MORE than playing the new shite that comes out today.
With those games there's always a problem running on newer systems. Be it technical or visual:
• some games need third-party apps for compatibility / no (ultra)wide support, frustrating input problems, no proper usage of today's hardware (single-core / multi-core), directx etc. (Mass Effect 1 is, btw, on this list)
• some games have aged so badly that despite the great story or gameplay it is almost impossible to enjoy them
No, I don't want Arx Libertatis - type of solutions for all my older games, as I want dem games to run OK as soon as I download them. Don't really have time to search Nexus-type of websites each time I want to quick play some older game.
