What Twitch could have done to support us visually impaired peeps:
- added a second audio track for chat TTS
- chat text & emote size settings
- bold/high-contrast themes
Things Twitch did:
- removed the "blind playthrough" tag
Nailed it

I thought it was obvious it wasn't about "helping" people. This is about appealing/marketing to a certain type of customer (that must be more common than i expect).

It's because that 'type of customer' is in charge of these things. They seek out the type of position that lets them push this crap. Companies hire them for god knows what reason.
Just checked a random DM video. Zero ads with ublock.

Is that Felicia Day (not gonna play the video, don't need it on my algorithm )?
Last time I saw her was in a stream with Jesse and Dodger playing Phasmophobia. People kept trying to talk to each other and she just kept singing some awfully cringe improvised lines about what she was doing in-game, drowning out any banter between the other players. Lasted 2 minutes before I became too irritated and shut off the stream.
Hungary. Only using Ublock Origin and Ghostery (no idea if that last one is still relevant though).
Absolutely zero ads anywhere. Even when I was living in London, same PC, same windows install, zero ads anywhere.
Well, Twitch was trying to circumvent blockers a couple months ago, just downloaded some custom player extension that got around it while UO managed to work out the new system.
A man was shot and killed Friday night in the parking lot of a Hermitage business after a robbery "prank" for a YouTube channel went wrong, according to Metro Nashville police.
The homicide unit is investigating a claim of self-defense in the shooting, MNPD stated in a Saturday news release.
Timothy Wilks, 20, was shot and killed in the parking lot of Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park around 9:20 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene around five minutes later, 23-year-old David Starnes Jr. admitted to shooting Wilks.
Investigators were told that Wilks and a friend approached a group of people, including Starnes, with butcher knives while participating in a "prank" robbery for a YouTube video.
Starnes, who told officers he was unaware of the prank, said he shot Wilks in defense of himself and others, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing, and as of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, no charges have been placed.

Up next, man runs up and starts trying to rape another mans wife in front of him. When fought off and beat starts yelling "its a prank bro!" and points to his friend with a camera.
