Larian's current humour is very hit or miss. They best stick to Sven roleplaying in his armour and making videos informing players about the game mechanics.
First official update is out now on Steam, here is the changelog:

With that said, here are the full notes for Patch 1 - Launch. TLDR; fewer glitches, better stability, and more polish.

Added minor text tweaks to various bits and bobs.
Altered certain dialogue choices for different NPCs.
Added extra combat tutorial messages to better explain the basics (let us know how you get on).
Astarion no longer thinks Lae'zel inspected you at camp when she is not in your party. Quite rightly.
Bug Fixes:

Fixed a crash related to dropping items from inventory.
Fixed a rare crash that could happen at the start of combat.

Fixed Cambion wings and Tiefling tail animations.
Fixed map not centering correctly on player characters in smaller subregions.

Fixed superiority die not showing actual values when using abilities such as Menacing attack.
Fixed minor issues with hair, skinning and textures on several models.
Fixed lighting issue in owlbear cave.
Fixed not being able to walk over corpses.
Tweaked ragdolls to reduce the possibility of models exploding (or glitching. Idk how to explain it, but it’s spooky).
Game is promising but still in VERY early stages. Fact easily observable once you load up and see the 'completeness', 'polish' and quality as a product of DOS2.
It’s big patch time. But this time, not only are you going to feel the improvements, you’re also going to see them. As we’ve previously said, Early Access is about improving and iterating on every single facet of the game, and that includes all of the things you see and hear.
In this big patch, we’ve got general fixes for cinematics such as this one below. He was starting to get a crooked neck, and we’re pretty sure he doesn’t have health insurance so we helped him out a bit. See for yourself:
It’s not just about tweaks though. As many of you know, despite playing through the Early Access content sometimes for up to a hundred hours or more (wow!) you still haven’t seen all of the content, because incrementally new things are seeded into the game. In this case, a missing cinematic. Where once was darkness, there is now light!
See if you can spot the differences in the game for yourself, or continue to read this Community Update with attached patch notes for spoilers. You know you want to.
A certain song has also been ‘re-shot’ by our cinematics team, which gives you an excuse to check it out again. Did you need one? Side note: we’ve been watching your reactions to this song in your VODs and YouTube videos, as well as in various streams, and the reactions are beautiful. Watching you play the game as we improve it is very motivating for all of us.
On the topic of music and joy, last week saw the Symphony of Sin, which included the first ever live performance of some of the music from Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as some wonderful songs from Divinity: Original Sin 2. You can watch the VOD here, it’s well worth it:
With that said, let’s look at some of the data that’s been making us smile over the week.
Everyone knows you can pet the dog in Baldur’s Gate 3, but did you know the dog has been petted 400k times? Such a good boy deserves that many pets.
Speaking of good boys, last update we discussed how Gale was ultimately attacked quite a lot. Check out last week’s update for the stats on that. Somewhat contradicturally, he’s the most “romanced” of the party. He’s been “romanced” by 33% of players. Shadowheart came second, falling in love with 31% of players, and in return 31% of players fell in love with Shadowheart.
1.37% of players chose to sleep alone. Which is cool too! We have the other stats, but thought it might be fun if you gave it a shot and guessed them. One thing we’re seeing is the stan memes aren’t correlating with the actual “romance data”. For sure, there’s enough tinder in the campfire to ignite some flames.
On a less romantic note (though this really depends on your tastes), 5.87% of players tried to steal the ring… but 26.3% of those players merely sucked a toe. If you haven’t got there yet, you’ll know when you see it. Since we’re talking about failure statistics, many people have made it to The Underdark. But 40.79% of players who jumped down a large, dark hole arrived dead, because they leapt without Feather Fall.
We’re saving perhaps the most interesting until last. Slight spoiler, so if you don’t want spoilers, don’t read this. You may know that at a point in the game, you may side with one of two factions: the Tieflings against the goblins, or with Minthara who demands the gates are opened for the goblins to attack the Druids Grove.
74.85% of you stood with the Tieflings, and 25.15% of you sided with Minthara. Good outweighs evil, it seems.
An optimistic note to end on.

I JUST re-downloaded the entirety of 4.184.2021 last night to have an up-to-date build since the GOG patches are spotty at best. Son of a bitch.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Does this game also have the annoying only wait for animation to play out before you can male the next turn? Can you speed up animations or skip them? My only problem with DOS is the unnecessary waiting around in combat they could fix easily.
exploration should be rewarded , fuck me, cant even remember last time exploring a game world made me find fun stuff besides cliche stuff
I do.
It was 500 years ago, when I first played Morrowind.
I accidentally found a set of (magic) Indoril Armor while exploring the world at a quite low level. No internet, no quest arrows, no guides back then. Just the pleasures of self discovering.
Of course, I was pushed around by the Dunmer guards in Vivec (iir), but hey... Those stats on the armor were absolutely OP.
It took ages before i played something that even remotely felt close to U7 - Gothic 1+2.. so it took like 10 years.
Larian is such a huge disappointment to me, Divine Divinity clearly was very inspired by U7, really loved that game. Their next games, not so much, and they seem to stray away from their U7 roots more and more, not even having day/night cycles any longer.
My favorite type of RPG is the "immersive" / simulator kind, almost no one makes them though, yes there's Bethesda and Pirahna Bytes and I'd argue even the latest Assassins Creed games appeal to us more than Larians new games, nothing "simulator" or "immersive living breathing world" about them at all. Even less so than Baldur's Gate, which at least borrowed slightly from that.
This video doesn't say anything. It's just a 10 minutes long PR statement about stuff you can pretty much find on the game's store page. Even the footage shown is from the store or official videos...
All that video can do for you is SPECULATE and / or recycle old, already known information. We've seen so many times before how HYPE creates false... gods (!). Besides, there was no recent significant update for the game that would justify a NEW, TRULY informative media jOurNalistIC material.
Just gief dem clicks!

Saw it a few days ago. I didn't even f**king clicked on it. It was so damn clear it's a click bait that would waste precious time.
This is a D:OS game, whilst Pathfinder is the DnD game.
I dare you to post this on the game's Steam forum.
Challenge accepted, shall post, will be fun. Fun, because it is true.
BG3 is a great game about moving crates. And pushing crates. And moving out of AoE. In fact, that is what combat is about.
Pathfinder beats this in all ways that matter. If you want the DnD feeling: choices, builds, builds, builds, sinking hours in to your party. Then Pathfinder is the game for you. If you want a map you can barely understand and moving lots of crates and other filler type things, then go BG3.
Also: writing in BG3 is pretty substandard. But hey, at least you can fuck around for hours trying to position your characters even in trash mob fights, instead of rolling through them.

I am 100% with this, but hey... some 'purists' (there) will not agree, nor appreciate this take.
So, bring reinforcements / build defenses and ensure your saving throws will handle the nerd mass of DnD-struction.

Casual / accessible and generic would be also appropriate descriptions here.
The writing/style/character direction is probably what Im disappointed the most about. I mean yes BG2 was "just another" high fantasy but damn the writing was awesome, even if a bit wordy at times but its just part of what it is. And Irenicus oh god that was so well done including the voice acting... This isnt even close, at all. The whole thing is just a one big cringe fest with shemales and lezbians and gheylords.
Blah blah blah but it has Baldurs Gate city in it! thats probably their only excuse for staining the IP
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
