Shouldnt be any, especially if they're unwilling to pay the price of a regular game

To seasoned cowboys, a question.
Is the game more fast/more dynamic once the first (snow) chapter is done? Game seems a drag to me, horse travelling, hunting animals, skinning animals, looting with two or three key presses, eating, sleeping, taking care of your stamina/energy/horse stamina... I mean, it feels more like a survival game than a stoyr-driven open world game tbh.

No, it goes like this over the whole story. If you dont like it now, i doubt thats gonna change.

if you don't like those things, then it's likely not something you'll enjoy playing as those are kinda key to the whole experience IMO
the first chapter is pretty lame though, and i guess they just wanted to flex their snow physics that doesn't really matter much outside the story
so while it does get off the rails, you're still going to be stuck with things that don't appeal to you as far as gameplay goes

@jackbomb pretty much yes, it's the same gameplay like first area, like you wrote.. you hunt to upgrade your equipment, god knows why you can't run in your camps, skins will go bad if you don't sell/use after some time, no traditional fast travel, and yes lots of horse riding.
But the game does feel more open once you finish the first area, you can go anywhere on map, there's ofc more variety in locations, you get new things to do like buying and upgrade weapons.
Not sure if you are not enjoying it now if you will later on but i would give it a try as it's an awesome game and maybe you will click with it.

The opening (chapter 1) is just a linear story line, then the game opens up, so its pretty much like GTA V opening, just longer.. i didnt care for the opening but i like the actual game once it opens up.

Still haven't played this, bought it back in December, together with death stranding, which I also haven't played yet...
I think at this point I'm just collecting games, lol.

Play Death Stranding instead. It's less generic.

I guess he means it takes out the involvement in combat and what's left is something similar to a walking simulator? is that so hard to figure out?

I fail to see how the involvement in combat will change this in any way? It's not like the action is designed so well that it shifts the pacing of the game or it's happening all the time. If anything, the action sequences tend to be quite far apart for the first many hours of the game. They can also be quite immersion breaking and unfitting for the story and not without their fair share of walking I might add.
RDR2 can be catalogued as a walking simulator with ease even if you don't partake in the secondary content meant to fill the map with something to do. Does this mean it's not a good game? No, but let's not hide behind the cheapest excuses.

This has little, if anything in common with walking simulators overall. It doesn't share their core design at all. Walking simulators are games usually void of any other activities than walking + getting the occasional cut-scene and story elements. This game has far more activities and world interactivity in it to be called that. I guess most people who call it that are used to very linear design and/or pew-pew all the time. There were people calling Skyrim that too, it's not a walking sim.

Yeah for some missions, but that's not the entire game.. It's not very linear apart from the first part, which is super linear.
Walking Simulators is a genre, and they have not evolved into RDR2, i'd say 95% of them are low-budget indie games. You can say any game where you walk is a "walking sim", doesn't make it true or doesn't really make much sense either to use it like that, its not like anyone would take you seriously, but it's a free world, your loss (of credibility).
