We could definitely use a proper single-player tactical shooter right now, but given the multiplatform nature and the fact that it's made by the guys behind Halo and Destiny, there's not much hope here to be honest. I'm open to surprises though
Whenever the word 'islamophobia' is used (especially with capital 'I'), you know from which direction it's coming from. Islamists shouldn't be listened to anyway.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
While faux outrage-based clickbait-y garmejournalysm cesspools such as Eurogamer, Polygon, Kotaku and the likes (not to mention the Reeeera) are absolutely pathetic with their ridiculous crusades, censhurrship in order to rewrite history(tm) and stances, it feels as though the marketing team here is effectively looking to stir the pot by releasing pseudo-emotional videos in which 'Murikan soldiers are painted as heroes and so forth.
If you want to make a shooter that is based on real-life events, the best course is doing it in a neutral and aseptic way. The alternative is going for fictionalized yet plausible scenarios like ARMA successfully does - the only one really, since the console Calancities of the past few years have been nothing but embarrassments on all counts, and indie titles have practically all been focusing on multiplayer. It's one of the main reasons we're not getting any authentic single-player military campaign these days, not only does the job require proper talent and resources to pull it off, but it's also a literal minefield in terms of public reception and audience. And it's a damn shame.
Yup, you can already play out your ''Merica fuck yeah, let's go fuck up them A-rabs, hoo-rah! or Allahu Akhbar Death to Amerika fantasy in Squad, but no one gives a shit apparently.
It's the marketing. Selling your game as a military sim doesn't get the same reaction as saying "look at our edgy edgy game that's not even made yet, so controversial right? Please talk more about it, any publicity is good publicity"

Not exactly the same audience size though

I just want a military shooter that combines exciting encounters and simulation seamlessly. My issue with arma is always all the fucking steps to do simple shit and wonky movement. Something like insurgency is more my style idgaf if the mission objective is burning nursery full of virtual ethnic babies (and I'm "ethnic")
Six Days in Fallujah enters Early Access on Steam on June 22 and is expected to be fully released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
Mkaaaaaaaaaay If the "primary targets" for this kind of niche game aren't enjoying it so far, it's probably not worth the purchase.
Looking at their comments, they all seem to collectively agree the core of the game (aka what the dev have come up with + a heavy dose of expectations) is solid but that this EA is very, very bare bones.
