Yeah, feels like the one in charge used to be a movie critic. :>
8/10 - Mediocre.
To anyone wondering: Difficulty also VASTLY changes between circuits. So no change on that. But hey, at least we have pitcoins.
Driving itself seems to be better again. The tires don't have that weird spin in corners you sometimes got in 2019. Having F2 is nice, Your own team adds a bit to the game as well.
Just don't pay full price for it, not really worth it when you got 2019 or 2018.

Yup, inconsistency is one of the historical problems of the series, though sadly almost every single driving game suffers from dishomogeneous AI/times. Assetto and PCars 2 both are guilty as well, but also the MotoGP titles, without mentioning Dirt 2.0 where the CPU times between the various stages make little sense. The only one that gets close to having some form of consistency is Automobilista 1, though as soon as one installs mods things get nasty again. I guess we just have to accept it
I refunded this abomination when I saw graphics are a downgrade, and after each race you get enticed to buy putacoins. Another franchise down the drain. Can't wait for Dirt Rally 3.0 "SandInTheVaginaCoins"
When asked to comment, EA offered a standard statement. “F1 2021’s pricing is consistent with both EA’s and major industry publishers’ approach for each region,” a statement to VG247 reads.
So F1 is back at EA after many years. Too bad EA is not the EA of 2000/2001.
As a side note, I just realized rFactor 1/2 use an engine evolved from the EA F1 engine! 🤯
What ? I didn't know that about rFactor, I was convinced it was a custom engine of their making for it to be.. like it is Gonna read about that story, I'm curious now.

Yeah ISI were some of the grandfathers of the sim world, not only did they make those good ol' F1 games of the early 00s published by EA (which still have better physics than Codies' ones ), but their engine became legendary after they used it for rFactor 1 and then gave it to SimBin for their GTR2, GT Legends, Race 07/GTR Evo and so on
rFactor 2 still uses it as well, and sadly it definitely shows in terms of features/visuals and (un)optimization despite the overhaul that occurred when ISI slowly died out and another company took over. The physics are top-notch though, the ISImotor is immortal when it comes to that!
Got nothing new to say but I'll say it. Nothing new. Same ol rf2, miles away in the physics department, miles behind in everything else. What is this F1 game. Who plays this shit lol.
First the inflated prices, then the Gen Z-friendly story mode, finally a bigger focus on cards for the online competitive Myteam, you can already tell the direction that CodEA is wanting to go. They're laying the groundwork for a full-fledged F1 Ultimate Team

F1 2021 (probably previous entries as well) has such a big ffb deadzone on my g29 that is almost unplayable. I was pretty sure they wont fix it. And g29 is the most popular wheel, just how do people play this ??
For those who have an RTX 30 and a compatible motherboard, I highly recommend forcing ReBar using Nvidia Profile Inspector. It gives 6-7% performance boost. It also gave a 15-18% boost on BF 2042 and Forza Horizon 5. Link to app: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases
1 - Select or write Battlefield 2042 / Forza Horizon 5 / F1 2022 in the Profile list.
2 - Show "Unknown Settings" by clicking the magnifying glass icon.
3- Select and enable the options 0x000F00BA, 0x000F00BB and 0x000F00FF as shown in the image and apply changes.
In my case, I run benchmarks with a laptop I'm currently reviewing and FPS increased from 77 to 82 at 1440p Max Setttings (DLSS Quality):
Well.. I bought the game for.. for my collection and regarding my previous comment, the ffb deadzone is not as bad as I remembered. It's actually very small. Game is playable although I didn't try VR yet.
