Haven't played all Battlefield versions, but the best experience I had was still BF: Vietnam. Helicopters with CCR music blazing never got old.
The numbers don't decide, the system is a lie. The river running dry, the wings of butterflies.
And you may pour us away like soup. Like we're pretty broken flowers.
We'll take back what is ours. One day at a time.

I played 1942 with a keygen (poor people problems), so only got to play in bits and pieces. Vietnam was my first real foray into the series, and it was fuckin' sublime! Can you imagine the shitstorm they'd garner today if they tried making another one in that era?
Then again, BF: BC2 had a Vietnam mini-expansion (something like 3 maps?) but it just wasn't the same. Great era for shooters, and for a while there it got the WW2 treatment where every game was set then, but it seems to have been forgotten since. Shame.
the m60 in battlefield1942 eod mod, was the sickets shit i ever fired after the cs version, i felt like rambo every time i was firing that thing mowing shit down !
god 1998-2008 was like the golden glory days we will never see the likes of again
BUT there is still some mods going strong like forgotten hope and reality mod
Remember that BF2 was made with the guys who made the Desert Combat mod for bf42 (Trauma Studios). And once done they shut them down, lol. EA style.
It never ceases to amaze me, to this day, how quickly studios sell themselves out to the highest bidder. I suppose back in 2002 one could argue that a precedent had not yet been set - but now'a'days there's no excuse for it. It's a given that as soon as shit takes a turn for the worse they're getting the axe. Especially with EA - they've invented and since perfected the pump'n'dump strategy. Bioware and DICE are next on the chopping block - and I feel zero pity for them.

DICE is strongly becoming (if not already) another Infinity Ward. The only 'positive' thing what's left is the name thanks to studio's old releases.

BF6 will definitely be a smoking pile of woke shit, they will try to get gamers interested with graphics and at least 100 player matches but it will suck.
