Yes Its the firewall, the game tries to connect to the net, and then shit fucks up. But Ive blocked it. Still taking to fucking long time. (After firewall messing, it works atleast)

Teh crack got some crackus in it.

I dont have a firewall and takes a while to load....so the problem is not firewall related

It sure as hell doesnt help anyway. Before I fixed it with the firewall, I couldnt even get it to start. Now it starts...but..as said.. SLOW. -.-

But maybe this Is slipping into technical. oh well.

Sig too big.

Probably going to need a private server crack. Use Hamachi to play LAN games with friends over the internet until then.

I find that the expansion pack takes twice as long to load as the original!! Ack! The load times on the original was much complained about and now they have made it worse! Unbelievable!

The sad thing about this SWAT4 expansion back is that it’s to short. It has only 7 missions.
At least this game has some good replay value and nice maps.

And the loading times are all ok at least for me (1Giga ram, nice sata 2 hard drive). It takes few seconds to load into the game and to load the missions. The crack works fine. Maybe some firewall or antivirus program is causing some problems for you

Not much "expansion" in this. These small modifications and changes could be added in a patch instead of releasing a socalled "expension pack". Don't waste any money on this shit, in case you play to buy it.

Don't worry I won't. Fun single player though even if the "go" command doesn't work properly.

Swat.4.The.Stetchkov.Syndicate.Public.Server.Patch-JURAI

This doesn't work as a Public server crack or as a private. Don't waste your time on it.

I have had SWAT4 installed for a while but I have barely played to it. However I gave a try to Stetchkov Syndicate and it is really good actually. I like the possibility to hold the orders but more exotic weapons (bamboo stick?) could have been added.
Takes also a while to load on an average machine and tries to connect to the internet while loading the fifth mission (WTF? --> blocked of course).

I wouldn't say it was harder apart from when the bad guys pick up the guns again after giving up...I've been caught by that a few times now..BANG.... BULLET IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD... Very Happy

Well there are cracked servers running, so there must be some other way around the cd-authentication. Anyone managed to run a cracked server?

-takes a sip-

This shit ain't never coming back. Ten years man. Holy shit. A tactical shooter mainly focusing on being the good guys, not getting picked up by anyone? There isn't a market for this stuff unless there's a clearly defined CT v T Counterstrike simplicity to it all?

The cooler missions ranging from the isometric SWAT 2 was the smaller missions, with one or two suspects, because you could imagine something like that happening in real life. The crime organization stuff was out there, but yeah, that stuff was closer in line with the missions of most shooters where you almost expect to have shot close to 100 guys before the end.

The possibility of capturing suspects was exciting. The devs even had player characters yell and identify as police when encountering someone, and give both hostages and suspects alike the crucial seconds to decide whether to give up or not. Even at gunpoint some suspects could pretend to drop their weapons, only to quickly aim at you again halfway, that was friggin' cool if you ask me. Then there was the securing of weapons, and if you didn't bag their gun they could pick it back up again if someone wasn't watching the suspect; there was also the chance of a hidden secondary weapon as well.

You could wedge doors to prevent suspects from fleeing out the back and taking up defensive positions in other rooms, use tazers to force aggressive suspects into giving up and so forth. I did miss the option of body-tackling someone, and forcefully zipcuffing them, but hey. We're talking about a 10 year old game.

Gas was really powerful, too powerful; but the best players always carried lethal weapons and even without non-lethal options managed to clear all missions scoring 100/100 by following the rules of engagement, simply not firing a shot until properly identifying and giving someone the chance of giving up peacefully; it also helps not aiming directly at someone's eye when firing if the goal is to keep most people alive.

I think it escape a lot of people how intense it could be with that little extra ingredient of going into it trying to save 'everyone', even the baddies, and I'm sure the game was played as a shooter by some.

I read a theory a few years back that there wouldn't be another SWAT simply because people become more familiar, and more aware of SWAT; and that in turn could make their everyday jobs worse because even a pleb would know some of their tricks and tactics. It isn't hard to imagine, but in its defense I never thought of SWAT 1,2,3,4 as sims, because their gameplay never felt practical and something you could translate into real world knowledge beyond yeah they carry guns and yeah they love to slice the pie.

A 2017 SWAT could be different in that the graphics and everything else would be bumped up 10 years, assuming there's a budget to work with, and if devs take 3 and 4 into account which they should, a SWAT 5 or whatever it'd be called, would be an even more refined experience; hopefully maintaining that intensity, and add in some shock and horror as well, like the underground lair of the guy who kidnapped the woman and stuff like that. There's a lot of weird shit going on to tap into for interesting missions without having to go too far into pure Hollywood fiction...

Anyway... back to League of Legends or whatever the fuck is popular now.

Very well said, this is an itch that really would need some scratching, but alas. Okay

With the average gamer who pursues instant gratification, action that involves little planning, XP points from headshots to invest in pink Swat skins and whatnot, this truly is a genre that is destined to rest. Not to mention the console factor, tactical shooter's archenemy for the obvious limitations.

Our best shot would be some talented and resourceful indie team bringing the concept back from the dead, since the AAA market is incapable of providing the goods without dumbing everything down and/or completely altering the essence of what made the game satisfying to begin with. Take Rainbow Six for instance and its modern CalancySiegestrike 6: No Doors edition, yet it's almost universally regarded as a hardcore shooter by journos, forgetting about the depth and careful planning that the classic single player experience provided.

Maybe EA could try to release a reboot..

This is still on my toplist of best game series ever made, and I am sure it will stay there forever. Smile

SWAT3 is a classic, SWAT4 was even better I think, I remember playing SWAT4 Beta like it was yesterday. Damn, checking now, almost 12 years ago. Sad

I am afraid we will not see a game like this for a long time, if ever.

It's a good thing swat 4 actually aged well. still looks very decent. heck, even swat 3 is still perfectly acceptable for me. just enough 3d fidelity for it to be playable in a modern context.

I remember the demo for it, and how it played out completely different every time.

and the good old control complexity, which only arma 3 and space sims really capture these days, with the whole keyboard being used, not just 5 keys with three billion contextual actions.
