its someone from ubi with dev account ... thats as official as it can get.
My bet for Ubi comback on steam , my bet is that they will go alongside the subscription similarly like EA did while rleasing all the missing stuff at once

tbh ubisoft planning to go f2p with their major franchises just shows that the company will go down the drain.
For reference:
I mean how worse can it get? The newer Assasins creed games had 4-5 different editions plus mtx for cosmetic and ingame items along with the price you paid for the game itself and tbh the quality of their games dropped long ago. F2p wont help the quality of their games.
Imo ubisoft will konami themselves and loose relevance over time since the they do bad decisions all the time and dont know how to make passionate games anymore.
So why really care if they come back anyhow.

Valhalla is great, anno is great. It's not that much down the drain, lol.
Far cry 5 was good, 6 seems not bad either.
Seems pretty constant to me.

I wonder when the market will be oversaturated with F2P live service games.
These whales everyone is after can only play so many ongoing games that have them log in every day for years.
Now that I think about it, these kinds of games are very similar to MMOs in terms of demographics/player engagement... remember all the MMOs that came in late and died off almost immediately?

Im sorry you re right.
90-120 dollars ultimate edition with ingame mtx planning to go f2p makes me get more hopeful for the future of ubisoft. Not to mention the copy pasta gameplay mechanics of their open world games.
Maybe thell get a company of the year award just like EA.

dunno whats so hard to get about them going worse and trying to milk every penny out of people.
Werent ubisoft the first company to come up with the seasonal season passes as well and still following that shit up.
How many season passes does Anno 1800 need i wonder? It's at 3 if you wonder maybe it will get more.
Thr company definately doesnt go down the shitter and their f2p model will definately not be a bad thing trying to milk more money out of people.
Company of the year material.

I don't mind season pass for them to expand on the games.
Anno 1800 is a huge fucking game now.

Season pass, I.e. dlc that expand on the main game are fine by me, for Singleplayer games. They suck for multiplayer games, tho.

I do. The problem with Ubi games is they are expensive when bought at release and obviously intended to make you feel you miss out and lure people into microtransactions and expansions making a full release purchase way to expansive. They should do either one of them: full price title or F2P/fremium.
Or do it like rockstar: sell a huge game for a full game price so as a buyer your quaranteed to get value and expand it with an online mode and make profit from microtransactions.

You get the full games for 59.99usd. The other versions include future expansions/season passes for a bit less...
What's the problem with that? And this is true for pretty much all Ubi games...

lol entitledness?
funny how gamers are anti consumer and dont notice themselves.
ill make sure to remind you after ubisoft decides to go the EA route and put trading card packs in every game and try to turn everything into a casino. but as you said nothing would change your mind since you accept ultimate extra editions and 3 season passes for 1 game.

@lametta Explain, how are you not entitled by demanding things like that?
OK do that, funny how you seem to be pissed off that you can't get everything for basically free (hundreds of other games via piracy or DLC with unlockers aside). When it's a good game that I enjoy a lot there is nothing wrong with it, you know, instead of releasing another title that may end up having less features then the first (WD Legion just as one example) it's better to improve upon an existing one. This is the thing, you can simply get Anno and won't need the DLCs but they are good and well made thus people who enjoy the game a lot can expand on it. And that is entirely OPTIONAL, so complain all you want, it's there for those who need it.
Most of the stuff available doesn't hold you back gameplay wise in the slightest? But of course you will argue that sHoUlD bE iN tHe MaIn GaMe.
Ignored the clear option of Ubi+ when you can simply finish the game in a month or more and just cancel. But it seems you don't play them regardless of the fact that every single company does more this or less, so why are you ranting on NFOH Maybe 15 bucks is too much for you but then again if that is the case gaming should not be your top priority.

Maybe reading properly would help (I will post shorter sentences next time I promise). I said (also if you didn't see, it was not to you but to Nodrim ) that I won't change your mind because you're only ranting here to find someone that thinks the same way, not because you're actually trying to discuss, that makes a big difference.
Also I am not buying every "ultimate extra editions", I buy them for games I enjoy most. Maybe you forgot what it is like to enjoy something but I didn't.

everything is optional even lootboxes, even the 239 dlcs of paradox titles that add something to the game.
back in the day youd get meaty addons for a small few with loads of content etc etc.
"i laik the game they can charge as much as they want" you do you
about ranting: even if iam, forums arent just for discussions, im probably not the first and not the last who ranted in nfohump same back to you
see you again after ubi and other companies raise the games price to 70 dollars bcuz 60 isnt sustainable "anymore" Just a matter of time
besides the fact that i wasnt just talking about anno but you fixiated on it totally ignoring them wanting to go f2p or them using mtx in sp games but okay....
p.s.: 15 bucks too much? thats the price for just 1 season pass
p.p.s.:there are enough games i enjoy dont worry

Well if I enjoy a game I want to play at least every story-based content it has to offer. That would often end up with me paying 80-120€ for special editions, which is quite hefty tbh, especially since I'm not interested in Multiplayer modes and cosmetic shit. Patient bears should wait for GOTY editions, but not every game is getting those.

Not the only one. More of those old titles had the rewards and the DLC's stripped. The AC2 Deluxe extra mission is also gone (plus any Ubi rewards that the game had). Other old titles are affected, though i can't tell to what degree.
