IMO having it removed from the PS Store alone will prove to be bad enough for the company on long term.

They'd never do a split launch like that, given that 2/3rds (or more) of their projected sales would be on consoles. All they had to do was either not derail development in the first place, or, failing that, at least listen to the people in the trenches telling them that the game was nowhere near ready when they decided to make the original release date announcement. You'd like to think that management (in CDPR and elsewhere) learned something from this, but history would suggest they won't have. I'm sure we'll be having this same conversation again in a few years about some different game hyped into the stratosphere that shit the bed on launch.

whenever one wonders "how could they be so stupid? how could they not see this would happen? who thought this was a good idea?", the answer is pretty much always "they knew and did it anyway because someone calculated that it would be worth it"
I don't think anyone expected sony to remove the game from the store though so they probably fucked up in that regard.

The PS Store removal is a little more complicated. Sony lacks a tangible refund process like Steam and Microsoft have. Refunding PS games is possible, but Sony doesn't tell you straight up how. If they had left Cyberpunk on the store, this issue would have been brought to the forefront.
On Steam and Xbox, you can try the game and keep it if you're satisfied or get a refund if you are not. Sony doesn't want this.

They fucked up all around, because the game now has less than half of its lifetime predicted sales. The majority of the sales are on PC, so sony can go fuck itself and die somewhere. The bigger issue is the game is not that good and it doesnt have the tail they anticipated.
Their whole operation was leaning on the fact that Cyberpunk will be an evergreen title that will sell for a decade after its release, like W3 does. Problem is, Cyberpunk is not a very good game and people have pretty much finished with it. They can fix whatever they desire, this is not gonna change.
Next year they're gonna have multiple projects at the same time, one game every half a decade is not gonna cut it

The derpstation store removal is forever. For whatever reason sony stated and even if it represented a minority of all sales, it will be remembered and probably for more than a blow on potential sales lost. IIRC it was pretty much unprecedented for an AAA game to be removed like this.
But fuck CDPR, they deserve all the shit they're getting over this. Sucks for the "little guys" to be fucked over by the greed of some of the idiots in there, but that's life.

CDPR really only have themselves to blame for it due to that refund announcement they made without first talking to MS and Sony (more mismanagement). The game on PS4 passed certification, so Sony was obviously happy enough to have the game on their platform before that (not to mention all the shovelware they actively promote, like that Life of Black Tiger and similar shit).

All of their releases were masivelly succesful. The first Witcher was multimillion seller. It performed so good it enabled them to make W2. Witcher 2 again was so good they could make W3 off of it.

The game was playable on PC from the start. Moreso now. The reason there are 3 times as many players right now for Witcher 3 than Cyberpunk is, as ive said, because the game is not that good. If it was the most polished and stable game in existence, the game is a 6/10 at the very maximum. Its ultra short compared with W3 and what is there is just not that engaging compared to W3. The main story is not as interesting, the side missions arent as well, the main character isnt Geralt.
So, even when the game is in a perfect technical condition, the quality of the gameplay and design isnt there.

"we have expanded our internal security department;"
I think they misspelled "We actually hired someone*"
I suppose hiring one person would make that statement true and also not sound nearly as bad. lol
All those improvements are literally the minimum any corp that is worth 1/15th of the value of CDPR already has in place.

I think why most are butthurt, lol, is that most ran out and bought a shiny new GPU for this, well, the ones that were quick enough and hey-ho, there ya go Double Whammy, shit man, dude!
I actually love the game for what it is, lol, very playable, and enjoyable, but hey, that's me, although I do find it funny, how one can call out bugs and shit in a game, but totally ignore the buggy mess it's running on?

I haven't tried again, I picked it up launch day for PC and buildings were transparent and trees were visible through everything. I put it down after 1 hour and decided to wait. I still haven't gone back, however, I will.

/sigh
It still runs as shit. 90-99% GPU usage no matter the settings + mouse aiming / look feels like it's processed through molasses.
These dorks never heard of raw mouse on first person games. Fuck, man, even The Witcher 3 had a setting allowing for raw input.
Jesus...

probably they had a very high fluctuation in the company so new devs arrived while others left, they ended up doing shitty coding, applying different logic each time.
And also covid hit.
You can see that most of the games and movies are pretty shitty due to covid.

^ I don't believe that in December 2021 we'll have a finished, polished, optimized Cyberpunk 2077 game.

It's not a hotfix...
It is however, again, clearly a list of fixes, that normally would have been corrected during the alpha phase of development.
