The Guest - 6/10
It felt like a homage to the 80s action movies, with its semi-serious thriller-ish vibes mixed with silly pew-pew-y scenes going hand in hand with the retro soundtrack. Nice premise, so-so execution, but in line with what one would expect from a B-like flick. The acting was competent, despite Dan Stevens' multiple attempts at generating sexual tension.
We Need to Talk About Kevin - 7/10
That was more unsettling than I expected, not because of its imagery or the psychological background, but because I could somehow sympathize with that poor mother. I haven't wanted to virtually slap a kid in the face so much since Joffrey and that kid from The Strain, kudos to Ezra Miller for doing an excellent job. Tilda delivered as well, and so it did the direction. I would have preferred the final part of the movie to be less melodramatic, but it didn't feel out of place.

You must have forgotten about the kid from Babadook.

Soul (2020)
One of the better Pixar's, but also thought it tried too hard, somehow. Pixar movies with humans are just not the same as the ones with animals/toys, imo.
(this one's better than Up though, apart from those brilliant first 15 minutes in Up, obviously)
Koma/Coma (2019)
Really great, thanks for the recommendation. Can't believe budget was only $4 million. I only didn't really like the reveal in the end, I would have liked it better if it were something on a global scale (more akin to the Matrix)

Absolutely, he was the only horror part of the movie as far as I'm concerned

A Quiet Place Part II - 6.5/10
A decline in comparison to first part IMO. Especially the last act that was painfully tropey and made me wince while watching it.
Spoiler: | The bear trap would shatter that kids bone and he wouldn't be able to walk let alone stand on it. It would have been easier to just write a scene that he broke the leg than this but ok more dramatic. The introduction of monsters made it for the worst - somehow which was predicted. Now the monsters are slower, they stalk the prey when the script needs it for "dramatic purposes"... |
Still a decent and enjoyable flick for most part.

A Quiet Place Part 2 - 2/10 for me (I didn't think the first one was that great either though). There's no substance to the movie at all, 50% of the movie is on Mute and at the end of the day its just CGI monsters smashing shit, i don't remember a characters name or any point in any of them doing anything in the movie.
Spoiler: |
The whole sound thing is kinda dumb, the world isn't silent.
Any characters choice in this movie - dumb.
Bear trap scene, dumb.
Cillian Murphy is in with the worst makeup job ive seen in a while, what was his relation to the original characters?, what was his problem? why Was he in this movie?
How stupid an idea was the wasteland style looter gang at the docks?!? .. how can you loot and pillage if someone can just scream and wreck your entire crew with cgi monsters?
the movie.

Tomorrow war 7/10
Incredibly stupid.
Incredibly cliche.
It gets 7/10 cause of the jump.
Only cool scene. Would have been epic had it been explored more (longer, rated r)
Action was ok. Expected more cause of the set pics.
But overall it is just a waste of time.

I thought it was a little bit unstructured and difficult to follow, tbh. |
I find most Pixar films very unstructured.
Most extreme showcase of this was Up, a great short film of 10 minutes, extended by 80 minutes with unnecessary and dumb content.

Tomorrow War: 6.5/10: Missing something to make it a must watch. Had potential, but failed to bring it to next level. Cool looking monsters and interesting plot somewhat kept me watching

The tomorrow war - my inner child gives this movie 8/10
It was dumb, there is no time travel paradox, it steals from all cult scifi movies but damn it was enjoyable. Almost no fucking emotional scifi bullshit, aww my relatable feels and psychological drama. And the aliens were great with great cgi for most part.

Hitmans wife bodyguard
4/10
Looks like they came up with quips that sound cool and wrote a story/plot around it. First one was creative and fun, this is exactly the same but stale. No innovation in the formula.

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021) 4,5/10
Don't actually remember much from the first one, but this was rarely funny and too over the top.
It felt like their idea of funny was to be raunchy way too often and ride on that.
Infinite (2021) 5,5/10
A little above average action movie with Mark Wahlberg being himself again. Had some nice action, but overall was forgettable.

Same here.
I didn't like the cool nerds getting off screen so quickly after deployment.

Thanks. A good sunday flick |
Does it feel... russian? You know... like increadibly overproduced cheap cgi?

A quiet place 2 - Continues where the first one left off and for me it was equally enjoyable! I'm sure I'll re-watch this soon It just ended so abruptly

I guess that depends on what you feel is "incredibly overproduced cheap cgi". Think inception and similar stuff, then add some grittiness (a'la rusty, worn and broken) combined with a wild design and you've got it.

The Tomorrow War (2021) - 3.5/10
Hocus pocus nonsense, with more plot holes than the UK Government. Poorly acted in parts, silly one liners, and predictable tosh all round.

Ghosts of War - 4.5/10
Started as a decent horror movie unfortunately the last act went a little bit retard...
Fear Street Part I - 5/10
I'm biased and don't like slasher horrors and it's the tropey slasher movie - a "homage". It wasn't bad I think but I personally find them boring.

The Tomorrow War - ?/10
Currently watching and in the first 20 minutes there are so many plot-holes or ideas that are just... dumb, like this one:
Spoiler: | So... they recruit people from ~30 years in the past.. But... that's just dumb. Instead they could send all their technology and knowledge and give humanity 30 years to prepare for the inevitable war which they would be so much better prepared for than just sending people with no experience fighting a technologically superior alien enemy... I could go on.. |
