If you ignore the luxury items and clothing you essentially have Forza Horizon, TDU's main selling point was the sims-y stuff living like a millionaire.
For pure racing there are certainly other titles around and upcoming.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown promises “dream cars, customization, avatars, competition open world, casino, and style” that remains faithful the franchise while adding “a wide range of new touches.”
It's easier, faster and cheaper to get these rendered trailers made than put together a big and highly experienced team of developers that can actually produce a good game.

that being said it looks really generic, earlier Test Drives were fun because no Forza existed with the same open world feel it had, now the sole selling point is absolutely gone and there are better Racing games around.
No physics, no meaningful damage system, outdated visuals/choppy framerate as per Kylotonn tradition, designed around derp-in-derp out with frØnds where you can also visit casinos and even dance. Another fine addition to the open-world racing genre!
I still remember testdrive on Amiga. It was impressive but really boring. I never was a fan of that kind of car games. I wish they would make new versions of games like Buggyboy, poleposition etc etc
