Bright Memory is a new first-person shooter in Unreal Engine 4 and looks great, created by a single person

Zeng Xiancheng is currently working on a brand new first-person shooter in Unreal Engine 4, and it looks bloody amazing. Bright Memory seems to feature physics-based scripted events, lots of action, feels similar to Shadow Warrior 2, and packs great visuals thanks to Epic’s engine.
Xiancheng aims to release this game for the PC next year, and plans to add support for VR devices. The developer has also released a gameplay video in order to showcase his game, and we strongly suggest watching it.
Bright Memory will be a single-player game with linear levels, and will allow players to use both guns and swords in order to alienate their enemies. The game will also sport a combo system.
For a one-man job, this is amazeballs. Great value/bargain-bin game it seems. Not a big fan of the HUD on the guns themselves, but impressive job nonetheless.
If at 4.99 it will sell well, I'd wager. It gives me that Darkest of Days feel

I heard those skeleton sounds somewhere else before... and I doubt that's the only thing/asset. But it surely is just placeholders... oh wait.. it's from China... they don't give two fucks about such things.
Just completed episode one (EA) in under 40 min, its comparable to Shadow Warrior. Monsters and skills, first person and fast pased, thats the keywords. Hope its not forever in early access and we wont get new content for years, thats what im afraid of. This short taste was awesome at least.
Isnt that video from the next version? The one thats not ready yet?
Edit: I guess next episode is what i ment to say

From here on out, I will no longer be developing Bright Memory: Episode 1 any further, but I plan on making regular “experimental” additions of various new features, etc., which players will be able to try out. Once development of Bright Memory: Infinite is complete, it will be distributed as a separate game, but those who have already purchased Bright Memory: Episode 1 will receive a special “100% off” discount coupon for Bright Memory: Infinite prior to its release.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
Only the trees have some color. It's hard to see anything else with that "realistic" rain, bloodstains covering half screen and flash effects for 3 secs.
Well...as i stated further up - you didnt actually try infinite but rather the techdemo alike one. Atleast I think thats what you did.
I dont think infinite has any demo yet.

Don't see the appeal. Looks cheap and bad gameplay.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I really don't know why gamers are bringing in the "number of devs" factor.
Going this logic:
RDR2 or GTA5: Worst games ever made.
Game that no one worked on and never existed:
GOTY!
I really couldn't care about how many devs worked on it. If it's shitty, there are no excuces.
It's not about such "logic" (I don't even know how you came up with that connection tbh ).
It's about if this guy can make such game he deserves the money that all those big AAA companies make. Look at Sweeny, Kotick or even Notch who barely did anything but are billionaires.

Like when Biomutant came out: "look it was made by a small studio so of course its not that polished"....in defense of the game.
If thats still a one guy development team, he can have my money! Id rather not have to pay full price though if possible
Weird way of spelling outsourced...
