Even the biggest and best cgi movies have shit cgi moments.
As long as the movie is fun, enjoyable and entertaining, lack of skilled cgi labor will not affect your experience.

But thats what he was in the comics. Not all comics of course, but most. Venom is pretty much spiderman/punisher. You get the quips of spiderman and the violence of punisher. Most marvel shit is just inbreeding personalities and see what sticks. Some try to change it up by making it darker and sinister which is nice, but they took venom from the kids comics for a kids movie. If they took venom from the more mature comics you get spiderman 3 venom.
Also you got the dark venom in the first venom movie where he hasn't fully bonded with Eddie but just toyed with him until they became compatible.

Agree 100%. I read (and I think I may still have it somewhere) the original Spiderman issue a long time ago and that was an entirely different and darker Venom than the nitwit they're doing on screen.

I stopped reading Marvel/DC in late 90s when Spiderman was killed by Hunter and resurrected. It meant there's no coherence and consequence in them and I dropped them.
I dunno what most characters are or how the old ones were potraited and truly don't care because in the end as long as they bring Marvel money they won't truly die. Meh.
But Venom was always the body horror/dark side of personality manifest from what I read not comedy looser symbiont.
