Before the release I was certain that this game gonna be THE SHIT, I would bet my left testie that even if it had some bugs on release they will be ironed out in 6 months top. Now I would be one-balled angry mofo.
9 months after release and there's only silence, like the CP2077 never happened. This may indicate that the upcoming DLC will be even more underwhelming than the base game on release.
Uh, let's not all struggle to respect at all cost the specific 'cynic' attitude that makes us all soe KOOL on these forums.
[ Some people must bring balance in this chaos. ]
Looking at CD Projekt's history of fixing and improving their games (Witcher 1 was a fantastic mess at launch, Witcher 2 and 3 had tons of fixes and patches), THERE'S A CHANCE® that they are working at actually finishing and / or repairing - if not everything - at least a big chunk of the game.
Since CP2077 is such a HUGE mess - both in volume of content and complexity - I'd say that the process of repairing it will engage them in at least 12-18 months of work.
And yes, CD Projekt contacted me and paid me for some lobby, specifically on this forum.

This is exactly what they should do - forget about it, pretend it never happened and focus on another title. The more they try to improve things, the worse it gets and they just add more fuel to the fire with their statements. Just let it die. Peacefully. And move on.

They should do, but the money men had this pinned a their income stream for the next 5 years. Given the current rate of development, this shouldn't have been released for another two years.
Well, that's debatable And this is in no way to "take CP's side" or defend it in any way or shape or form
You can pirate the original Skyrim release version and apart from glitches (and DLC obviously) it will be the exact same experience.
Hell most people finished the game for the first time during the first couple of weeks after launch.
!
Nobody would go play it now without mods and say: Wow this is a different game!
If Cyberpunk 2077 ever becomes the game it was supposed to be. Y'know, non bullshit AI, especially cops and driver AI and an aggressive extension of content.. ah let's face it.
It's never gonna happen.
I second the other guys. Might as well drop this game. It's gonna take too much effort to make it the game it was supposed to be. Might as well start with another title and learn from their mistakes.
Y'all know nothing about branding, marketing and client loyalty. Neither do I.
But...
A stain in your company image will impact and affect your whole activity FOR EVER. That's why, if possible, it's recommended to clean (as much as possible, at least) that stain.
"Move on"... they say. Sheesh...
WOULD YOUmove on (?!), if you screwed up so hard in front of someone you care about? Yes, I believe they still care. Deep down inside.
Looks like it, that a lot of users waiting for a miraculous patch which ain't gonna fix what you are thinking it should to fix and meanwhile i've speedrunned CP 2077 in ~110 hours and enjoyed every bit of it. Game breaking bugs? Nowhere to be seen and even if i did find some bugs, that wasn't game breaking at all. W3 was a great game due to storytelling, characters, locations, but encountering roughly 2-3 NPC's in a square km wasn't my cup o tea. CP 2077 on the other hand was quite an opposite - i've enjoyed this cruel, dark, gruesome, living city very much. Obviously i didn't listen to every conversation, didn't search every nook and cranny, but what i've found it was enough to enjoy this game immensely. It is a masterpiece and this is as close to a Witcher 3 as it can get in terms of scale and ambition. I've played gazillion of games that were buggy as hell on launch, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment or didn't blind me what developers were to achieve. After CP 2077 devs will release all awaited bug fixing patch or DLC, the core game will remain the same and if you didn't like it until now, you won't like it after patch, DLC or whatever.
This is solely my personal impression of CP 2077 and there is no need trying to convince me otherwise - you won't succeed.
Either way, IIRC the next "stop" on their pathetic roadmap are the derpstation cinco and xbawks whatever-that-shit-is-called versions and after that some supposed DLC's so who knows when they'll bother to patch in some of the nice stuff / functionalities that mods are already doing. Or even if they're going to bother.
This shouldn't be the way to do it but just offer the community some nice update on the mod tools. And bite the bullet, even if doing that risks your DLC selling less because there are better mods out there.

Will this be the magical patch to fix everything ?
The magical patch to fix everything will be patch 3.0.
After 9 months or whatever its been these patches are all pretty underwhelming and feel like altogether they would be like a month 1 patch from a lot of other devs. This game must be so fundamentally broken that they are just releasing these sort of small patches over time so it looks like they are at least making an attempt to fix it so their government does not request back the supplemental funds they provided to create the game.
