moved to August 2021

Quote:
When we announced Humankind, we often stressed that this was the dream game Amplitude was founded for. We were overjoyed by the positive reception our dream saw, many players expressing their excitement for a new entry into the historical 4X genre. Yet we knew Humankind was an ambitious dream, so we looked for help from our eager community.

Through the OpenDev program, you have given us invaluable feedback on the game. While Humankind is already a great game, many of you think it could be even better, and after analyzing all your great feedback, we realized that we could make even further improvements to make Humankind the best game that it can be. These improvements take time, however, so we have decided to move the release date.

Humankind will release on August 17th, 2021.

We’ve been one of the most wishlisted games on Steam this year, so we know we’re going to be targeted by pirates, more so than any of our previous games. If Denuvo can hold off a cracked version, even just for a few days, that can already really help us to protect our launch.

That being said, our priority is always the best possible experience for the players who buy our games and support us. Denuvo should never impact player performance, and we don’t want to sacrifice quality for you guys.

We believe that it’s possible with the right integration, which is what we wanted to test during the Closed Beta. However, we found that the way it was currently integrated was not good enough, and it’s not something we can fix before release. So, we are taking it out.

Just wait for reviews and it will probably be broken on release as with every other game from them.

So far i like it, reminds (obviously) alot of Civ - but the combat could have been better.
However, i had some trouble finding my way around among all the screens, i checked keysettings for what to press - but it would not work. Probably (hopefully) just some local temporary error.

Edit: Weird why i had to rightclick the map to enable arrowkeys to work

Getting used to some things. I just played like first 40 turns or so but I like the starting era where you build outposts and hunt things to progress and pick a culture. So far the game is not bad.

Already found out how annoying those island cities are, huge pain in the ass. But other than that I played quite some rounds, it's fun for sure even though I am not a Civ type player.

Game has some weird late game balance issues, like the Turks and their school giving crap ton of science. There are also problems with resource spawns during map generation. For example, you may not be able to complete space victory because there is not enough oil on the map.

But to be honest, the game is great. I like the idea of doing various things to move up in Era vs just researching. Attaching/detaching outposts/cities is interesting concept.

If they can fix the balance issues, cheating AI (doubt it, it was present in their previous endless games), and expand with more things. It's going to be a great game. They need to also open up to modding as well.
