I'm still struggling to get back in shape in Escape from Tarkov.

I'm playing The Sinking City on Origin. This is an over ambitious game with a lot of technical problems and gameplay aspects that could have been done better.

I miss SWAT gameplay so I decided to give Zero Hour a try. It's pretty cool, especially for a budget game. But there's still a long way to go until it's a finished product.

Shift 2. I still rage with some races, especially drift ones but it's easy entertainment.
Luckily the closed servers dont affect gameplay.

Aw, I was all giggity until I read that it's multiplayer-only..shame. On the bright side, both SWAT 4's community and Raven Shield's are still alive and people keep releasing overhauls/contents even after all these years since there are no modern alternatives that can come close to offering similar experiences. It's both amazing and sad in equal measure.

Psychonauts 2 - great sequel, kept the same kind of humor, game play and story not to mention the freakily insane art design when you go on a psychonaut mission.

I think unity was pretty damn good tbh. One of the better actually. Game got a lot of hate for technical bugs initially, but i had no issues.

The first hour of the game (until you
 Spoiler:

) are basically the best 60 minutes in the entire franchise. Great directing, story telling, graphics and score. Naughty Dog levels of good.

Then they are confronted with the open world of Paris and non-linearity and the game absolutely tanks.

Story becomes dull and uninspired (hey you're just.. an assassin now because your father was one and well.. go and do a bunch of random assassins shit for us basically until the game ends) and the general combat and gameplay mechanics are probably the worst in the series.

It's not even proper stealth anymore it's just.. inevitably ending up in combat and throwing smoke bombs.. and repeat. Can't whistle or distract guards, most of the bosses and set pieces are not designed for a stealth approach, certainly not for stealth kills.

You could previously finish the entire games with just your hidden blade but in this game you're more preoccupied with grinding money so you can beat the content.

Can't properly enjoy the anonymity of the Paris rooftops either because everyone spots you and for some reason there is guards on every roof top and placed every couple of meters.

It's absolutely beautiful though and still holds up in that regard (apart from agressive optimizations in regards to draw distance and LOD).

Paris feels super authentic and they really brought the city to life with literally thousands of npcs swarming the streets. Hasn't been like this before and since.

It could have been a masterpiece but they ran out of steam after the opening sequence. Kind of the curse of open world games. To not get lost in designing the open world and trying to fill it with meaningful content and inevitably stretching the content to justify the big world. And frankly in some ways neglecting the story, characters and gameplay for it.

Oh the rifts and murder mysteries were kinda cool.

That's innacurate, you can play "lone wolf" (part of co-op option).

Wholeheartedly agree.

Game shows so much promise: the dialog, the story, the characters, the world, the historic background, the lore etc.

But what happens next is so underwhelming that I don't even...

There was a typo in my last post which pretty much changed the whole meaning. Missed the W in NOW. Very Happy

I was pretty reserved when I started but it's been quite nice actually. It has some Assassins Creed trademark features like silly AI and character getting stuck hanging on chairs and other high edges. But there's some nice moments and Paris looks beautiful.

Star Citizen ...

And surprisingly I had a blast, the Xeno Threat event (PvE) is quite good and fun.

Now, bugs and shit going on/disconnection messed up several sessions but in the end I enjoyed it.

This could have been such a good game, but it falls short on every single aspect. I'm playing 2-3 zones per day so it is okay, but I have definitely expected far more from it.

Finished Grime and now trying to take another hit to fullfill that metroidvania/souls addiction with Blasphemous.
But Blaspehmous is that crack-cocain spiced with some glass and concrete and I think I'm too old or stressed for it to enjoy.

Cat Quest where after "oh it's so pretty" I'm getting my ass handed to me too.

Am i getting too old?

Scrapland. A criminally underrated sci fi action adventure game. It's my fave game of all American McGee's games. Running R.G. Mechanics repack which includes widescreen support (I've set it to 1680x1050 to get 16:10 AR which works just perfectly) as well as having removed Starforce/whatever protection from the game. Maxing out AF/AA etc. settings in NV control panel completes the process and I'm enjoying this classic game again which I've never completed.

Spent a ton of monies on PS5 + stuff for it (VR, aim controller, games). Played for perhaps 15h in total, it's pretty good.. Doom VFR seems underrated, fun with the aim controller i have to say.
Now back to playing Rimworld on PC (1000h already played), been playing 8-10h daily for 2 weeks Laughing

For some reason i started thinking about the early Jedi Knight games yesterday, decided to buy Dark Forces II... There's a Remastered mod out there which looks pretty damn good i think. Upscales the textures using AI, adds bloom (done tastefully), SSAO...

 Spoiler:

The character models stands out, this is 2 years earlier than System Shock 2, and that game has far more crude models.

Gameplay on the other hand.. it hasn't aged particularly well. Level design is very mixed, it's cool when it's done with verticality in mind, but those cramped areas gets dull.

ATOM RPG - trying to min max my character to import save to Trudogard but will probably take a pause after finishing it.

Also to not puke from ATOM started Phoenix Point and have to say the game changed quite a bit from what was before the DLCs.

Pretty neat! the TW engine was made for fantasy/irrealistic games, not historical ones, imho.
